yeah, sametime meetings does too. but when you join a call ur mic is on and I guess this is somehow different than joining with your phone or something??? so we get an earful of whining from the host while he mutes everyone

theres no defense for continued use of g711 and its continued existence is a symptom of telco incompetence.

I pitched that we should just play a super-short "now dialing 911..." prompt before connecting but apparently the 0.000000000001% chance those three seconds actually mean life or death is enough to make it worth frequent firetrucks

at my old job i called 911 at least three times lol

luckily they would just call reception before dispatching units cause it happened often, our phone system was poo poo to accomodate our old rear end idiotic users and our users were terrible old idiots

also i once spent an hour trying to dial overseas before saying gently caress it and emailing the guy to call me instead

maybe... i'm the idiot

2-1-1 is a special abbreviated telephone number reserved in Canada and the United States as an easy-to-remember three-digit telephone number meant to provide information and referrals to health, human and social service organizations.

Like the emergency telephone number 9-1-1, 2-1-1 is one of the eight N11 codes of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP).
