Isn't there something the host can do to prevent people just repeatedly wailing the same thing that's already been answered?

It was one bad interview session at 9pm on a friday night when everybody's out on the lash. Theresa May has had this every single time she's been in front of a camera. I wouldn't stress over it too much tbh. The nukechat was depressing as gently caress, however.

So will this, finally get the Tories to shut the gently caress up about BBC leftwing bias? The answer is no.

Well, to be fair the audience on the seven way debate did seem much more aggressive towards the Tories, so this being like it is is only "fair". I certainly hope you didn't think for a second that people cheering for Corbyn and laughing at May were representative of the entire country.

That was the toughest bit of questioning I've seen him put through - but I think he held his own against a hostile crowd. They're tricky questions but he's running for PM and should have an answer for them, even if they're being asked by obvious dickheads. Felt he acquitted himself pretty well tbh, especially considering there is literally no good answer to the nukes question.

Corbyn is too honest for his own good sometimes. Just say you'd retaliate with a heavy heart, not like anyone would be alive to call you out on it if you don't.

Over at my folks atm and my ridiculously pissed stepdad (in late 60s) absolutely loved it and thinks Corbyn nailed it. They saw May as vague and useless He particularly liked the North Korean answer - "Whats the point of bombing them just to kill their kids? Its just loving vengeance isn't it?" I think people watching it who haven't already made up their minds will come away feeling he did fairly well given aggressive questioning. Those who just skim the Mail/Sun headlines won't pick up on that though.

Yeah, but he already needed a flawless performance & May loving up to have even a slim chance of winning. Momentum is a funny thing & one iffy performance could be enough to make people who were wavering stop wavering & go back to voting for the Nuclear Armageddon Party, coz it's a strong & stable pair of hands hovering over the red button. It's shite, but he's coming from so far behind, & FPTP is such a trashfire system, that you were looking at a miracle to get a Labour majority, but even a Labour minority is a seriously slim chance. And this little is enough to make sure we're not getting that unfortunately. Irony Be My Shield posted:Corbyn is too honest for his own good sometimes. You have to think of the headlines that can result from this. 'Corbyn refuses to answer question on nukes' isn't really going to change many minds. If that was people's top priority they already know he's not on the same page as them.

Tough night for Corbyn but if you think the Corbyn Surge doesn't need swing voters and instead can rely on an energised youth vote and high turnout from traditional non voters then you shouldn't be too worried.
