Hey guys, 8th edition is actually balanced.* *with the initial army lists that nobody will want to play with once the codices are reprinted e: I actually would play with them if they were free** but probably decide to stop playing with them anyway because skirmish games are just plain better

When someone wonders "why go on about gw?". This is sort of why. I can't see most companies charging for place holder rules, at least not in double digits. This is a reason why ppl download. I'd rather a book myself or cards but christ these are supposed to be temporary. An yeah your money you spend it but this much? Like thats rent for a lot of people mother of god. Fake edit: fat fingers

Ok ok forty five freedom dollars for some epub poo poo, but has anyone actually worked out the Price-Per-Skull for the limited edition? I am considering investing all of my paper money into GW servo-skull tokens, gently caress a bit coin.

Even their rules books are jewel like objects of wonder. Only some kind of poor wouldn't want to have these temp rules on their shelf. In fact they are limited edition, GW is giving us savings by not putting an additional 25% mark up!

Idk, 8th rules seem really good. If you're planning on playing alot it seems like pretty good value

Not for that price.

Considering that you can get perfectly serviceable rules for like $10 on the internet that are model neutral, it's certainly not worth the price.

Watched Miniwargaming struggle through an 8th Edition batrep and holy poo poo how can people think these rules are good? 'So you see it's quite tactical because my Tyranid warrior is in the wrong place so it can't consoliate do the nearest opponent without breaking coherency so it doesn't get to fight in this combat, even though it's in range of multiple enemies' or the Beasts of War intro game where the GW chode literally prays that one of the first dice rolls of the game doesn't wipe out half of one army on camera.

^ so are you implying that if there is a single dice roll on turn 1 of a game that would so comprehensively ruin a demo, that it's a good rule? Or that it's a Good Rule if combat is already so janky that you have troops that can't fight because of the nested rule inside a nested rule for piling on?
|
# ? Jun 5, 2017 09:12 |

Single roll is bad, but there was (edit: I assume) a whole bunch of dice rolls leading up to it, so like a dozen dice rolls determining a game. I haven't seen the batrep and I'm still rusty on the rules so I ask: How many wounds would it have done to his army, enough to remove half of it? Was half his army bunched up around the psyker? Maybe he didn't know psykers could gently caress up in such a bad way and wouldn't bunch half his army within 6" or whatever of it? And what you said in 50 words could be summed up in 5: "Models can't break unit coherency." Hamshot fucked around with this message at 09:32 on Jun 5, 2017 |

The single roll thing was a hero assaulting, so it was just the set up. The rest of the game was, however, as exciting as watching two people throw sandbags onto a dune.
