For fans of The Raid films, Iko Uwais stars in an action movie that just showed up on Netflix, called Headshot. It's certainly not as good as either of the Raid movies, but I'd still recommend it. The action is of that same style that you can only really get from Indonesia and Uwais.

I was named after some very popular teen heartthrob actors that had a blockbuster the year I was born (please don't try to guess it. I don't think it'd be that hard but just, please?) It's not nearly as bad as being named Hodor or something because it's a real name but still I kinda resent it. I've never seen the movie and don't care to, but every time I really think of it I get a little uncomfortable and just think "Christ, how obvious is it my mom was a teenager then?" Had I not found out the inspiration for my name it probably wouldn't be too bad. And both the actors became jackasses and weirdos in their own way later on so, :/ Don't name your kids something in any way related to any kind of media or even something that's trendy for whatever reason (Nevaeh, gently caress). Name your kids William or Sarah or something.

I was named after a beloved local sports legend who is in his 80's now, and in 50+ years of fame there hasn't been a single person in Baltimore who has ever had a bad word to say about the guy. So I got off easy I guess.

One of my coworkers named their kid after a dragon, or maybe a character related to some dragon-filled media, I dunno (I don't think it's GoT related, at least... but it may be anime). Those people are uber-gamers but I'm pretty sure that kid will grow up to be an investment banker.

For some reason it's more endearing when someone older has some nerdy reference for a name. Mostly cause almost no one used to do it. One of my best friends is named Thorin and it was funny how much more visible it became after the hobbit movies came out.

Frank Zappa, king of child naming, had issues naming his son Dweezil at the hospital. A nurse pleaded with him not to name him Dweezil, refused to sign the certificate with the name. So his son was named Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa (after the members of the band he was closest to). The nurse was happy and Frank said, Okay Dweezil, time to go home. When Dweezil was 5, he found out his real name and demanded to be legally named Dweezil, so Frank and Gail got lawyers to work. Also Moon Unit Zappa, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan Zappa, and Diva Muffin Zappa

Moon Unit's novel is one of the worst most self absorbed piece of poo poo put to paper. Fully 90% of it is about how hard it is to be the weirdly named daughter of a famous person because you never have to work and there's just no sense of self awareness at all.
