Not wrong, but it's a bit of a walk from "she was asking for it in that dress" and "he took a picture of his penis and sent it over the internet to a stranger who's now renting silence on his facebook contact list". Sextortion scams are definitely a thing and enough guys get suckered in with the "I'm her father she's 15" scam that telling people not to photograph their dicks has somehow become an even better idea than it already was, which I didn't think was possible.

quote:You do not build a prosperous nation by excessively taxing those who create prosperity and jobs, now and in the future. History has taught us this time and again, whether you look at the Dutch Republic in the 17th century, Great Britain during the Industrial Revolution or the United States in the post-World War II period. Then, the nation’s builders were encouraged! Wasn't the highest marginal tax rate in the US like 90% from the post-World War II period until the 60s?

If high income taxes scare a bunch of rich dudes away it's not like the demand for those people goes away as well. Someone else just takes the job who is willing to stay and pay the higher rate. Trying to retain highly mobile rich parasites is a fool's errand and scaremongering about them leaving is empty fear tactics.

I highly recommend it.

Frankly Canada could use a clearing out of big businesses that are dominating the market. I say raise their taxes and let smaller businesses feast on the juicy remains.

I don't think Global news would be extending Horgan the same polite courtesy if he was the incumbent. But yes I'm aware she is still technically the premier for as long as she cares to drag this out, so great is her respect for the people of the province, and their kids and grandkids

I got a game for dirt cheap because it was on steam sale called Democracy 3. It's a political "sim". From it I've learned the only option is status quo capitalism with good social programs and that if you tax the rich or corporations they'll all leave your country and your entire economy will nearly instantly collapse and you also need to spend as much money as possible on small business grants and corporate welfare or the job creators won't create. It is bad game.

Nah there's a trick to it where after a while you get 100% of the vote every election without even trying really so after like 3 elections you can go full-on communist and nobody gives a poo poo.

My favorite part of that game is how Canada starts with the "Abortion Law" slider set at "No Restrictions" and you either have to 1) Spend all your early game points making it more restrictive 2) Spend all your points completely demolishing religion 3) Spend all your points on an all-powerful police state Or you get assassinated by religious extremists
