Victim blaming is the grossest thing.

Not wrong, but it's a bit of a walk from "she was asking for it in that dress" and "he took a picture of his penis and sent it over the internet to a stranger who's now renting silence on his facebook contact list". Sextortion scams are definitely a thing and enough guys get suckered in with the "I'm her father she's 15" scam that telling people not to photograph their dicks has somehow become an even better idea than it already was, which I didn't think was possible.

Then, the nation’s builders were encouraged!

If high income taxes scare a bunch of rich dudes away it's not like the demand for those people goes away as well. Someone else just takes the job who is willing to stay and pay the higher rate. Trying to retain highly mobile rich parasites is a fool's errand and scaremongering about them leaving is empty fear tactics.

Have you read a little nonfiction novel titled "Atlas Shrugged"? I highly recommend it.

Nah, between advances in fracking and the huge oil reserve find in Texas the tarsands will never be profitable again (at least for a decade until those reserves are discovered to have been wildly overestimated like they always are).

I guess the plan is for Global News to just keep calling her the premier, and for her to carry on like nothing has changed, and eventually all this nasty "election" business will fade away and the rightful government can get back to work, focusing on what matters for a strong BC for our kids and grandkids :canada:

She's still the premier for now - you know how your system of government works so not sure why you're pretending otherwise.

Christy Clark gives opposition 4 days to provide input on Site C dam

B.C. Premier Christy Clark is giving NDP Leader John Horgan and Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver until Saturday to provide advice on how the government should proceed on the $9 billion Site C dam.

In similar letters addressed to the two opposition leaders, Clark explains the potential implications of delaying relocating two homes slated to be knocked down for dam construction.

"In your response, I would ask you to specifically indicate," read the letter, "whether or not you maintain your request to delay the relocation of the two houses in question with the knowledge that BC Hydro ratepayers may be at risk of incurring a $600 million cost increase to Site C."

I don't think Global news would be extending Horgan the same polite courtesy if he was the incumbent. But yes I'm aware she is still technically the premier for as long as she cares to drag this out, so great is her respect for the people of the province, and their kids and grandkids

I got a game for dirt cheap because it was on steam sale called Democracy 3. It's a political "sim". From it I've learned the only option is status quo capitalism with good social programs and that if you tax the rich or corporations they'll all leave your country and your entire economy will nearly instantly collapse and you also need to spend as much money as possible on small business grants and corporate welfare or the job creators won't create.

It is bad game.

Nah there's a trick to it where after a while you get 100% of the vote every election without even trying really so after like 3 elections you can go full-on communist and nobody gives a poo poo.

My favorite part of that game is how Canada starts with the "Abortion Law" slider set at "No Restrictions" and you either have to

1) Spend all your early game points making it more restrictive
2) Spend all your points completely demolishing religion
3) Spend all your points on an all-powerful police state

Or you get assassinated by religious extremists

Also Canada starts with like 3rd world levels of crime. Crime is maxed out, organized crime, violent street crime, anti-social behavior it's all at maximum.
