First it's the BattleTech thread and now this. What's with beta periods that make the weird people crawl out of the woodwork?  e: lol page snipe. Maybe we should take the opportunity not to derail the topic any more. So how about the beta access guys? I would like to participate in the beta but I don't really want to burn out before it's actually out. I wonder how the bandit quests will be revamped. I'm gonna play it for like a week then get bored or frustrated and stop until it comes out. Hope there's some build guides cause I'd rather test the play through instead of figuring out what kind of build I need to make it through act 5 6 and 7.

I'm well over the $500/lifetime mark at this point and I'm going to get a supporter pack so I'll have to try my hardest not to do the beta, at least until they add Act 8 later on and the delay between wipes will be probably longer.

I'm definitely not playing the beta; I barely got my second character high enough for their build to start working (1st was WI CWC witch, 2nd is now chieftain lots o life RF) and I want to let that sit for a while.

You people are crazy with your expensive packs. I just bought the cheapest pack I could to get into the beta, because the key is the only part I care about. It is the summer now and I have some time, so I figured 'why not?'. Installing the beta now. Haven't played in over a year, and don't remember all that much. Any suggestions for a good noob way to start?

Pretty much any spell caster, 2h melee, bunch of totem builds, summoner, basic bow stuff. There's a billion builds that are viable self found to early maps.

Something like this maybe workable for a newb in the beta? https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1647240 I've played a couple characters in previous leagues. Had a tornado shot ranger following neversink's guide a couple years back. Last year I had a mahori erqi earchquake dude who I did some labyrinths with. Just not sure how things have changed.

Some of the big changes in 3.0.0 are ES getting nerfed and Ignite/Poison getting reworked to get rid of double-dipping. That build does use fire damage, but it's not getting all its DPS from ignites.

Pretty much. I toss 20ish bucks a month on average at GGG because their game is really good and so is their business model. I don't have to, but I like to.
