Saw the Standard's coverage this evening about how "business says Corbyn = bad", and my immediate reaction was "no poo poo". I guess they bank on people thinking that "bad for business" is the same thing as "bad for you".

If we lose I think the blame needs to be in part over not being much much tougher on David Davis and comparing him to Big Keir. The Tory narrative about JC versus Tess on Brexit should have been skewered by pointing out Davis is supposed to be doing most of the legwork and he has done gently caress All so far. No answers on EHIC, non-answers on migration, no costing for No Deal.

Britain's patron God is Tzeentch. God of change for its own sake, of laughable ideas of "progress" in the face of an uncaring universe. The deity of false knowledge, of honeyed falsehoods, of national credit cards and shoot-to-kill policies. The God of hope, the cruelest lie of all.

Thought you folks might like this: https://benjaminstudebaker.com/2017/06/06/britain-for-the-love-of-god-please-stop-theresa-may/ I found it to be a really useful critique, with pretty graphs, of the austerity response and why it's been damaging. Don't think I've ever seen it set out quite so concisely with everything 'in one place' and it's much more accessible than getting people to plough their way through The Austerity Delusion by Krugman which had 90-million pages. Is anyone elses Facebook feed full of this shite? quote:Does continually raising tax really work???

Corbyn's speech in Islington tonight actually made me cry. Man I just don't know what it's like to have a politician up for Prime Minister unapologetically advocating for exactly the things I believe in and being proud and forthright about standing up for those in need. I was all sanguine about him maybe shrinking the Tory majority and losing but now I'm seriously down about how much this country is hosed by the grey and the hateful and the stupid.

Prince John posted:I settled for doing an effortreply but perhaps you're right. I'll reach for the hard stuff! No effortreply needed, it's a great example of tax cuts disproportionately favouring the wealthy and the necessity of cracking down on offshore tax avoidance schemes, whilst also demonstrating the folly of the "no pint is better than an expensive pint" argument as the rich man realises that drinking a can at home is comparatively poo poo. The unspoken answer to the opening question is "yes, absolutely!"
