I am amazed how many people can look at the Tories talking about 'tough decisions' on spending cuts and about the deficit, then moving on to talk about lowering taxes and not see the whole thing as an ideology rather than a necessity.

Mr. Flunchy posted:Corbyn's speech in Islington tonight actually made me cry. Man I just don't know what it's like to have a politician up for Prime Minister unapologetically advocating for exactly the things I believe in and being proud and forthright about standing up for those in need. I was all sanguine about him maybe shrinking the Tory majority and losing but now I'm seriously down about how much this country is hosed by the grey and the hateful and the stupid. Now there exists the largest most active organisation united around those principles that the UK has had for decades. The election is a moment, the organisation and its goals can continue. Until now they've acted like they were incredible confident in it, now it's "still being tested". They did seem to be distancing themselves from it pretty massively. Especially by banging on about the confidence intervals and avoiding mentioning that Labour losing seats and the Tories gaining more than 4 would be outside even their huge margin of error. Definitely worth noting that now they've ended up in the enviable position of having a model which predicts a hung parliament and a poll that predicts a Tory majority, meaning they can't really be wrong.

Yeah whether it'll be right or not they do detail the "minor" changes they made to their last poll here.quote:The first is that rather than asking people which party they’d vote for, we showed respondents a list of the people actually standing in their constituency and asked which one they would vote for. Hopefully this will help pick up any tactical vote considerations and remove any issue of people saying they would vote UKIP or Green in seats where UKIP or the Greens are not actually standing. So I guess if you felt optimistic with the past couple YouGov polls then you should probably feel the same now, like Pissflaps (!) said. vvv lmao you're right it was fake Pissflaps waffle fucked around with this message at 23:46 on Jun 7, 2017 |
