WhyteRyce posted:Sometimes I wonder if so many people are in love with the idea of San Francisco that they purposely ignore all the bad stuff around the city Like I said, I live here. Right in the middle of it. Other than the horrific homeless problem (which is mostly runaways and junkies who come to SF from elsewhere) and the high cost of rent, there isn't that much "bad stuff" around this place. I feel perfectly safe being out after midnight in 90 percent of the City. I can't say that about any other American city I know except San Jose (which is safe but dull). My kids are fine wandering around, day or night. There is a poo poo-ton to do here, both high and low culture abound, it's absolutely beautiful, I can drive 10 minutes to walk my dog on the beach, the food is fantastic, the weather is always moderate. People are in love with SF for good reasons. Even the massive influx of tech-bros can't really kill the mojo.

The Ringer has something on the Lonzo Ball Lakers workout. Only this matters though:quote:As I was surveying the crowd, I heard a voice down the hallway marvel at the scene. “Man,” he said, “all y’all here to see Lonzo?” It was Lamar Odom. He was clad in Lakers workout gear. He looked good. On any other day, that might have been the story. But Wednesday, Odom was just like everyone else — trying to get a glimpse of Lonzo Ball and maybe talk to him for a while. I'm glad Lamar is doing better.

I saw so many while I was there last week, more than I've seen in New York because 1) the weather means that you never freeze or broil 2) it has a well-earned reputation for being tolerant and doesn't force them to leave 3) once they get here, there are enough support services like soup kitchens and wealthy people to panhandle that you can survive. Do we travel back in time or forward in time to hold the match, and how does this affect the social lives during the downtime preparing for the game? ? Which team is awarded home-time advantage? Is it harder to teach the 80s Lakers to text, or more deprivation to keep the modern Warriors without smartphones or internet or advanced stats? DeimosRising posted:Does the sorcerer give each team a few weeks to gameplan? 1986 rules or 2017 rules? 1986 refs or 2017 refs? Like can the Lakers abuse Curry by just posting up Magic 20 feet from the basket and letting him rear end bump him for the entire shot clock until he fouls out or gasses? Are there backcourt clear path fouls? Are moving screens getting called 80s style, because then the entire Warriors offense is barely going to work. Good news. 2017 Warriors win under all 4,096 of these scenarios!

It's unfair how easily and in how many ways they can score. Also literally every team in the pre-2000s era is poo poo at shooting the three so by virtue of that alone they would be barely competitive. That Magic thinks that the Showtime Lakers would sweep the 2017 Warriors is equally as laughable as virtually all of his other opinions on basketball. Maybe he knows something about time travel that we don't and he can convince Mychal Thompson to not father Klay Thompson.
