I turned up with nothing because my polling card never arrived and my passport is at my wife's place. It was fine, they let me vote, Full Communism Now, etc.

Edit: if we went by this thread we would be setting up Workers' and Peasants' Soviets as we speak :ussr:

there's a very weird anxiety that comes with the actual action of voting. the weird fear that you've maybe done something horribly wrong, despite the fact you just have to place a cross in a single box

If your read stuff about societies of the past you'll realize media control and capitalism is only half the reason. The other reason is humans can be horribly stupid. I've just read about the collapse of the Polynesian civilization on Easter Island and it's stupefying how some tiny branch of mankind on some forgotten island ran itself into the ground all on its own.

The chapter ended with the professor retelling how his students all get super-depressed when they learn about Easter Island, since those guys essentially all had the same problems our modern societies have, just in tinier forms (and minus racism, since they were all alone on their tiny island). And they hosed themselves into oblivion.

If May wins, I'll start calling Great Britain the "Easter Island of the 21st century".

If you just write "TWAT" in big capital letters in the appropriate box does it still count as a vote? What if you write it twice, overlapping in an "X" shape?
Because that might sweeten the pill a little bit.
