You know I think there ought to be a sociological study as to what magic loving power the tories have that it's so loving easy for them to convince people to eat poo poo and that they're the best ones to handle the disasters THEY committed and to say things like' no more human rights' and get away with it, Britain is an incredible petri dish of late-stage capitalist alienation and self- flagellation and post-democracy media control that it's incredible, but hey at least they're now quarantined out of Europe lol. This is assuming that they win, which I think they will because people loving suck and care more about the nuclear apocalypse than they do about having a decent living.

It was fine, they let me vote, Full Communism Now, etc. Edit: if we went by this thread we would be setting up Workers' and Peasants' Soviets as we speak

Went down to vote with me dad. Polling station totally deserted apart from us, but I did see a bunch of Labour posters/placards set up on the way there, so that's hopeful at least limited posted:Went down to mine firing text messages with my sister on when she's going to vote. Went and voted: Labour, in a very safe Labour seat (Swansea East). Saw a few other people around. This afternoon I'll be heading over the constituency border to see if there's anything I can do to help overturn this travesty. Paul.Power fucked around with this message at 10:34 on Jun 8, 2017 |

Remember:- Hope is a Lie, and the country that voted to gently caress itself forever economically is not going to magically vote for social democracy or anything good really when presented with the opportunity to do so.

rather horrible having to vote for hillary benn but still there's a very weird anxiety that comes with the actual action of voting. the weird fear that you've maybe done something horribly wrong, despite the fact you just have to place a cross in a single box

If your read stuff about societies of the past you'll realize media control and capitalism is only half the reason. The other reason is humans can be horribly stupid. I've just read about the collapse of the Polynesian civilization on Easter Island and it's stupefying how some tiny branch of mankind on some forgotten island ran itself into the ground all on its own. The chapter ended with the professor retelling how his students all get super-depressed when they learn about Easter Island, since those guys essentially all had the same problems our modern societies have, just in tinier forms (and minus racism, since they were all alone on their tiny island). And they hosed themselves into oblivion. If May wins, I'll start calling Great Britain the "Easter Island of the 21st century".

Just wanted to say I'm a long time lurker of this thread and the many before it, and as others have posted this is the first time I felt like I'm actually voting for something I believe in, rather than the lesser of two evils. Did my postal vote for Labour already as I work away from where I live the majority of the time, and I'll be getting shitfaced tonight in anticipation of the exit poll. Thanks for doing these threads guys and girls.
