Oh well, 2 votes in for a safe SNP seat, I don't even really understand the impact of Scottish seats on the English political map but it'll be kind of surreal if we wake up to a Conservative victory tomorrow, I've seen nothing but utter vile and contempt for them to a degree worse than the 2010 or 2015 ones.

It's not hard. Scotland used to be a guaranteed 40+ seats for Labour. Now they're not. Scottish seats are worth the same as any others. Nat posters seem to have this fantasy that the seats don't matter. Like if every SNP seat went to Labour they wouldn't get an advantage because the seats are imaginary until held by the SNP. The SNP basically serves as a vote divider, especially now they hosed up independence. Then in England and Wales we have the greens, Plaid and Lib dems further dividing the vote. UKIP used to do the same to the conservatives but collapsed.

Voted Labour, sadly in one of the safest Tory seats in the country. Also, we're putting a complaint into the Electoral Commission. There's one of those anti-anti-social-behaviour devices set up in the car park of the polling station, an extremely high-pitched noise only audible to young people. We noticed it at the Brexit vote (my wife's a bit younger than me, so it was actively painful for her, and just vaguely uncomfortable to me). The ladies running the polling station didn't know about it, and the caretaker of the site hadn't been aware of it last time. However, we spoke to the security guard this time, confirmed it's existence. Given the voting habits of different ages, it''s a pretty big deal to be scaring young people away from the polls.

Less than 4 hours until the polls close and the meltdowns begin. Are you ready? Polling station was 'steady' when I asked but it's a Tory stronghold so probably not a good sign.

If you want a positive thought: my completely subjective opinion is that most young people working adults are voting after work or uni because gently caress getting up even earlier than usual to vote beforehand. The majority of people to vote so far are probably terminally bored olds with no other committments during the day.

Just voted for Labour and I was a proxy for a friend, so scratch two more for the jam man. Feeling pretty confident locally, Bristol South we briefly predicted to be a Con flip at the start of the election but has returned to being a Lab hold which makes sense since it's been Labour for like 80 years. Shame about the rest of the country though. I'm drinking a nice amber ale to prepare myself for the exit poll.
