No reporter had anything to say about that?

This is why I really liked Comey's bit about how you have to consider the entire testimony of the witness in assessing credibility, and how you can't cherry pick the parts you like and the parts you don't. He knows he's got Trump beat in a he said/he said situation when it comes to overall credibility.

You are still stuck in the post-holt, pre-russia transcript world. We were also unsure and equivocating at that time (maybe others on this board don't remember, but we weren't this certain back then). The white house transcript leak firmly pushed us into the "ok, we now have definitive proof" conclusion.

It is an ancient custom, long since lost in the annuls of history.

(I think it's from either the days of typewriters or early word processors but it was required in all of my official writing until like 2001).

Not much unless Mueller announces indictments or informs congress what he found. If the Dems win the house in 2018, then they may begin to debate impeachment in 2019.

I know many want to think Kasowitz is a clown because he represents Trump, but his firm is a pretty legitimate nationwide law firm. I don't know if they were the right choice for this particular kind of matter, but when a reputation for non-payment precedes you, you work with the options you have.

Fitzy Fitz posted:

Many older law firm partners do this. It's really annoying, but they will get on an associate's case if they don't follow the old "two spaces after each period" rule.

Yeah, that's where I learned it too :corsair:

It's doubly unnecessary on computers because not only will modern text layout systems do their own kerning tweaks to get the right amount of space after a period, web browsers will ignore runs of consecutive spaces after the first anyway.

Yeah, it's a typewriter thing. A lot of old folks still think that's how it's done. It's also a not-so-sneaky way of adding length to a piece of writing...

i am concerned maybe you're actually stupid instead of pretend stupid

here is how it works

firing comey is obstruction of justice if it was done with the intent to interfere with the investigation. period. that is it.

now, in your mccain-having-a-stroke head, you seem to conflate several things:

0) what obstruction of justice is
1) is there proof of trump's corrupt intent
2) is the republican congress going to impeach trump over it
3) do trump's statements alone establish corrupt intent

every time it is established you are stupid, and wrong, you take the answer to one of those and claim its not an answer to a different one. perhaps because you too are having a stroke. but each is an independent question/

in order:

0) it is obstruction of justice to fire comey, if Trump had the requisite intent. you may not simply say he was allowed to fire comey, ergo no obstruction
1) trump's conduct and statements are very strong evidence, but you can't really "prove" intent in the sense that it is beyond all doubt
2) the republican congress won't impeach trump if he tortured and murdered a small child
3) probably, most definitively when you include the statements from the russians you establish (a) trump viewed the russia investigation as a problem (b) he fired comey because of the russia investigation and (c) he believed by firing comey he ended it, a chain of events that leaves no real doubt that his goal was to end the investigation by firing comey, textbook corrupt intent

Try to find out if the time you spent writing this is billable as pro-bono.
