Kensington recount isn't going to be till Saturday, but looking veeeeery tight. Is that already factored into the DUPCON majority?

Chakan posted:Ok, thanks. I thought the PM was voted by a simple majority because it's so weird to me that a system would outright acknowledge political parties exist. I've been trying to make up for beign a hermit the past decade or so, but every couple of months I find out that the most powerful elected position in Australia is actually the royal sheepshearer or something equally strange. Technically our system neither acknowledges political parties nor prime ministers. Each MP is simply an impartial representative of the constituency he's from who may or may not happen to vote the same way as other MPs, and the PM is just some bloke off the street the Queen tasks with getting her legislation through Parliament.

It's so good to see May's sheer arrogance bite her in the arse. To run such transparently baseless attacks the whole time, treat campaigning as though it is beneath you, and then run that manifesto, and count on the worst traits of the electorate and sheer inertia to win it for you is utterly unforgivable. Or pretty good, from where I'm sitting.
