they will have 328 MPs in the house and everyone else will have 315 and that includes the speaker. I don't get how that's not a majority of 13

Because if an MP rebels, it counts double as the tories lose a vote and the chaos coalition gains one.

If 13 tory MPs voted against the party with the rest, it would be a 315 - 328 vote.

It's like a credit card if your credit card didn't need paying for 40 years and paid you interest on money you put on it and you could take out another credit card at the end of the term to pay for the first credit card.

So it's nothing like a credit card.

The DUP want cut corporation tax, reduced vat, a cut in air passenger duty and relief for small business but also have backed a freeze of rates (NIs equivalent of council tax) and opposed most of Cameron's welfare reform - eventually bringing in after being fined repeatedly and defended on the principle of parity with the rest of the UK

They are broadly populist economically and have been cautious to maintain working class protestant support while also developing policies under Robinson to court the middle class and business owners

If May has really gone to ask permission to form a government without even finalising a deal with the DUP that is breathtakingly arrogant, or she is 100% shook.

Yep, as long as she May (or her replacement) can command the confidence of the Commons they can stay in government until 2022.

Theoretically yes but the DUP set british teeth on edge and the tory performance was MASSIVELY below par so we might have another election before the year is out.

Countries can borrow money at FAR below the rates that a person can. Imagine having a credit card where your credit card debt decreases with time (because of inflation) as long as the bank thinks you're good - there are situations where borrowing for a country is like getting money for nothing.

Because the Tories were predicted to get a bigger, safer majority and instead they lost the slim one they had. Now even with the support of a bunch of frothing Irish lunatics they're only just able to scrape together enough MPs to be able to pass anything, and there's a good chance the whole thing will quickly implode.

Isn't the unionists entire platform "we will take money from London and give it to other unionists". Using English tax money to buy 10 Irish seats for Theresa current seem like a vote winner the Tories.
