Just for a second imagine if Corbyn hadn't been given the bare minimum of nominations for the leadership election and we'd ended up instead with a choice of Cooper, Kendall, the other one, and a randomly selected 4th Blairite. Just imagine how last night would have turned out. Labour could actually be dead this morning if everything else had played out the same but with a Blairite in charge.

Winning on the 2015 map was near impossible. While the majority wasn't huge there also wasn't a great deal of marginals to play for. The 2017 map on the other hand is wide open for a good Labour victory now. If we get an early election then barely losing this one might be a blessing if we can get a far more solid victory out of it
