nothing to seehere posted:IIRC, each party got 80% of their 2015 vote, and both Labour and Tories had 10% of their 2015 vote defect to the other side. So assuming voters have become polarised and hyper-partisan, the only changeable factor is demographics. Therefore Labour just need to hang in there whilst Father Time does his thing. gently caress the old. Ban them from voting after a certain, medically agreed, time period based on when mental acuity and cognition deteriorates.

Yeah the tories desperately need to keep pushing the line that they only did badly because of their social care missteps and poor campaign. I would really like to see a breakdown of what proportion of the vote for each party comes from each age bracket, it's good to know how each age range voted but it would be better to know just how many votes actually came from that 65+ Tory goldmine compared to the younger pro-Labour demographics.

Remember when during Cameron's resignation the overall feeling was that it would be looked back on as the largest political own goal in British history? Surely this has got to be even worse. The sheer arrogance and incompetence that lead to this Tory self-destruction is mind boggling.

I would never normally endorse reading the right wing rags, but at the moment it's the best source for seeing who is briefing against who. From the mail's big "what went wrong with the campaign" piece. quote:Bearded Timothy — also nicknamed Rasputin — has particularly annoyed senior ministers, such as Hammond, who have complained about his behaviour. They have been appalled by his bullying and the way he often swears at ministers.

Does anyone who's particularly au fait with the Labour peers know if they've decided to stop their spiteful anti-Corbyn protest? The Tories, DUP, and UKIP between them are a good sixty to seventy peers short of Labour+Lib Dems+the rest, which could gum the work of the Commons up for a good year or two.
