I'm pretty sure that is illegal like, freedom of assembly and association under Article 11 of the European convention of human rights, illegal. Though you may have to prove it had consequences.

A similar story. Worth checking their companies house listing and seeing all the people with the same last name. Unfortunately not the same Greg Knight as the MP with the excellent campaign video.

Desiderata posted:I'm pretty sure that is illegal like, freedom of assembly and association under Article 11 of the European convention of human rights, illegal. Pretty sure you wouldn't. It's a direct threat intended to influence a person's vote. Definitely illegal. An argument could be made if they'd made it worded more vaguely, but they essentially said, 'labour voters will see repercussions.'

ThomasPaine posted:Are orange marches even banned? They happen in Glasgow all the bloody time. Or is this specifically a GFA NI thing? Orange marches are banned in Dublin, since the infamous "Love Ulster" parade in 2006 which led to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Dublin_riots It turns out that we did not, in fact, love Ulster in the same way that they did, and furthermore the boys did not like it up 'em

ThomasPaine posted:Are orange marches even banned? They happen in Glasgow all the bloody time. Or is this specifically a GFA NI thing? The issue is they can't go through catholic communities, something the Orangemen very strongly feel they have the right to do. Hoops posted:Are UKIP done? I reckon they're probably done. They'll take huge, fatal losses at the next local elections and then we'll hear in three years that nobody bothered to renew their party registration or something. They will lurk around the edges for a while and mop up fringe voters - they're unlikely to hit the heights of 2015 again unless something weird happens like all parties turning away from Brexit. A lot will depend on whether they can get Farage's level of messaging as well, which seems unlikely unless Big Nige himself makes a return.
