ERM... Actually I have stellar scores on the surveys, and every year students tell me that my classes are the best ones they’ve ever taken.

I feel like some of this is BS. The supercharger compresses the air so much that it not only reaches liquid form, but nearly reaches solid form?

I think they're talking about the fuel, not the air, and it's hyperbole -- you'd blow the heads off the engine well before you attained enough pressure to temporarily put the fuel in a solid state. So it's really just a poorly written way of saying that the cylinders are so full of fuel that they're on the verge of being hydrolocked.

Which I would definitely believe:

They often have wider ratio transmissions than mx bikes and sometimes six gears instead of five, as well.

Tbh I think actual true enduro bikes don't exist anymore, they were an entirely different type of bike but now it's cheaper for manufacturers to just stick lights and long gearing on an mx.

What is the hooniest street legal thing I can get for 4 grand in southern california, but doesn't require a whole lot of wrenching? I was debating on just getting some FZ thing but realized I just want a bike for fun and not commuting so I don't want to drop a lot of cash into it or spend a lot of time working on it. Btw i'm not scared of wrenching, but I just want something I can reliably take out and do dumb poo poo on twice a week or so. I'm guessing this is some kind of supermoto.

Also will a wr250r push my 250 lb rear end or is it going to be a little sluggish?

go up to 5k and you get a low mileage couple year old fz-07 or fz-09. You can find nice DRZ400's under 3.5k

390Duke is supposedly a pretty fun hoon bike.

If you arent commuting a grom or z125 are just about the most fun/dollar you can have and they will get your weight up to 50mph no problem

they seem to be generally much higher mileage than many similarly aged bikes. What is a safe amount of miles I should look for?

I'm at a loss. I'm probably not ready for a bike again because I can hardly take care of myself at the moment, but I miss riding :(

I also know I could be saving quite a bit of money on gas if I commute via bike. A few years ago a buddy of mine helped me refurbish a 1983 Suzuki GS 650 GL.

http://susanlateesha.tumblr.com for photos.

I loved that drat bike. It treated me extremely well and I took care of it the best I could. Unfortunately times got tough and my car (99 ford escort) decided to poo poo out on me so I had to sell it, and the bike to get a car. Florida in the summer isn't a good idea to ride daily as riding in the rain sucks.

Fast forward. A few years later I managed to find a 1981 Honda Goldwing 1100A. It was in more rough condition than the Suzuki was to start and I'll tell you what, I had no desire to work on it after riding it for a few months off and on. I rode it just to ride. I loved the size, how quiet it was and the ride was pretty smooth considering the air suspension was cut. I sold it for what I bought it for about a year and a half later, $850.

I'm not a mechanic, hell i'm barely a novice rider. One bike I've always been interested in is a naked 80's goldwing. Just stock, not bobbed or anything gross. I love the antique bikes but I lack the knowledge and will power to maintain a piece of history. My question to you, is knowing my backstory, what ride could you recommend me? I'm not looking for junk, but I'd like to work on a bike that is somewhat 'easy'. After assisting with the refurbishment of the Suzuki I would imagine something similar to that would be easier to take care of and maintain. Please tell me if i'm wrong, thank you in advance.

Yeah Triumph decided the engines should be running with a fair amount more oil than they initially specified, so they made a new dipstick. Low on the new dipstick is high on the old one (new dipstick is the top, old one is the bottom). It's only really a problem for people tracking their bike hard as far as I've seen, but apparently running a lot more oil doesn't cause any problems.

I enjoy the vintage bikes and I'm sure they are more upkeep than something like a street bike or a Harley normally would but I'm at a loss of where else to look.

1. You made a tumblr for your bike named susanlateesha. To be clear, that's both the tumblr and the bike.

2. You said you miss riding. A scooter has two wheels and is riding.

3. You said you wanted to save money. A scooter is relatively cheap both in initial outlay and in maintenance.

4. You said you weren't mechanically inclined. You can buy a newer, more reliable scooter that will require less maintenance for less money than a similar motorcycle.

5. You want something that is simple and you can work on. But you're not mechanically inclined and don't have cash to spend on a bunch of obscure parts. With a newer scooter, you can get something you can tinker with while you ride it.
