It's obviously not fire-resistant enough to be safe for large buildings due to the proportionally higher risk and consequences of a fire, but It's legal in the US on buildings under 40 ft.

Not a firemans, but it wouldn't make much difference on a detached house, say, because any internal fire would either alert or kill the residents before the place went up like a Roman candle. otoh it's really uncommon for individual houses to be cladded, as cavity wall insulation is cheaper, more effective, harder to gently caress up and less ugly. So who the gently caress knows.
