May dodged the question and just kept repeating that this was a tragedy. It's pretty clear she's hosed hugely, I just hope her incompetence and malice clings to the Tory party and sinks their chances of being in power for as long as possible. If there's a silver lining its that whenever the next election is it's looking increasingly likely we will see a Corbyn government.

But lets face it 99% of people have no clue who the SWP are and all of this moaning just gives them the attention they crave. I'm pretty sure your average CLP has more members than the SWP nationally now.

Gort posted:What are the issues with the SWP? Anyone got a good run-down? They closed ranks to protect a possible rapist in the senior party membership, and bullied and harassed people who spoke out into leaving the party. They have a track record of attempting to control and take over grass-roots activist groups, and their other big thing is turning up at any public movement with bin-bags full of their placards to hand out, so people think they're more than a tiny ridiculous grouplet. That's a beief summary but there's more.

Beefeater1980 posted:No it's not. Malice is malice. If incompetence is held out as the same thing, it makes malice seem less bad. You punish malice, you correct incompetence. Malice is not incompetence, but incompetence is also something that can be deserving of punishment. See for example criminal negligence. There are various levels on mens rea that are criminal and punishable.

You can't be?", Err yeah I set that up to do research for the public good after the government shut down most of the ways to do that through academia, or getting a job with the GPO (I'm such a GPO nerd). "But you'd lose everything!", err, not really, I'd be leading a design bureau somewhere, I'd be perfectly happy and the most important bit, most of my friends and everyone else would be okay too.

I don't know how the SWP manage to have signs for every possible eventuality on hand but that's the main reason that protests always have a ton of them. Free publicity for them which is unfortunate, but I wouldn't assume a random person holding a SWP sign knows anything about them or actively supports them.

Weirdly enough, I was just listening to the episode of Chapo where they break down her book, and shes even dumber than this headline suggests. Shes the sort of person that thinks that she got to where she is through hard work and perseverance when you just know that had she not been born into an affluent family she wouldn't even be fit to stack shelves.

The trick with the SWP whenever you're at a demo is to accept a sign and ask for a couple for your mates, and then smash them up and throw 'em in the bin. Every little helps.

When Call Me "Pigfucker" Davey "Pie" Hameron took over the conservatives they changed their logo to a tree to show that they were caring and environmental. I forget when but shortly afterwards they transitioned into a union jack over the tree to express their dropping of environmentalism and embrace of nationalist racism. I assume if May stays in very long it'll do its full transformation into a union jack swastika

The tree is significant because there was a big outcry that it cost something like 30k to make and the job was given to somone's son. It was literally made in MS paint and a small child could have done better.
