https://youtu.be/ABX6K6yLloQ New The Faceless Song. A lot more prog than usual but it's pretty good. Like most things I have to give it a few listens. Not a fan of their new vocalist. Edit-Oh it's the Abigail Williams guy.

New Duskmourn coming in 3 days for all your melodic folk death metally ways, out of the historically folky location of...New Jersey, USA. I never heard of these guys before the announcement from the Atmospheric Black Metal guy on Facebook ( great follow btw ), but this is some good poo poo. In truth I can't really pin a specific band similarity, not that it's THAT unique but it's hard to put a finger on it...maybe bits of Gallowbraid? Think occasional flute, mouthharp, synths, and melodic guitar leads with growling vocals and some chanting. Edit - maybe a sort of American melodeath Moonsorrow? Edit 2: definitely getting a bit of Be'lakor in the guitar melodies here. Their bandcamp: https://duskmourn.bandcamp.com/ New single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHC2gbZr3JQ ( poo poo quality, hopefully just a bad upload ) Previous album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O5f8R6einw Favourite song from previous album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O5f8R6einw&t=76s TollTheHounds fucked around with this message at 00:18 on Jun 14, 2017 |

I'm currently listening to the new Death Fortress LP and it owns: https://deathfortress.bandcamp.com/album/triumph-of-the-undying The drumming is even beefier than on their previous album. It seems they got tired of people calling them death/black metal, though, because that guitar sound is extremely tinny.

Also, the favourite song link is 48 minutes, so.. it's an album. What should I try out if I'm just taking one song?

It was really cool to finally see Suicidal Tendencies and eventhough I did enjoy it, they stretch out most of the songs in their setlist which felt pretty cheap. They actually only play a handful of songs over a short hour, going on and on with the same song like Can't Bring me Down. I'm sure it took about 10 minutes.. I don't get it really, why would you do that? These guys don't exactly strike me as being lazy or something and Muir's voice is still pretty good.

I hadn't heard anything about Symphony X in a while, so I looked them up to find out when they might be putting out a new album and found this statement from Russell Allen: "To be honest with you, I'm a hundred percent committed to [ADRENALINE MOB] and that's what I'm about right now," he admitted. "So if you wanna come see me sing in the next few years or forever, however long this thing goes on for, then you're gonna see me in the MOB. There's no future plans for SYMPHONY X at this time." I'm bummed out now.
