The most apparent thing is how vibrant the color work is. It's bright and poppy and it just looks really good. The higher resolution also gives you a real sense of the texture in the linework, and the backgrounds during space scenes are downright gorgeous. Outlaw Star might just be my all time favorite anime. It's not necessarily the best, but goddamn I love that series to death and back.

It's initial action arc was a bit weird and less good at times, but everything since has been great. It or sukasuka is probably my favorite non-sequel show of the season.
