Anyone have any experience going through checkatrade's complaints procedure? I've had some cowboy builders do some godawful work on my house although being naive and an imbecile, a loving moron, I've paid them. It's only when I had another builder come round was i made aware of the truely awful state of things. I've contacted the builder and he's admitted that his work is shite and agreed to come back and make it right, however I do not have confidence in his ability to carry out the work properly and I'd rather just get my money back and pay someone else to do it. He's not as enthusiastic about giving me a refund. Anyone have any experience dealing with cowboy builders?

ookiimarukochan posted:I provided data on the fact that they specifically have a system to provide you an excuse when the trains are late which, you know, is kind of a sign that it happens. I don't think anyone is saying that no trains are ever late in Japan. The problem is you were using it to support your point when it doesn't necessarily do so. This system could be in place due to trains in Japan being worse as you claim or it could be down there cultural differences and the way Japan handles expectations of being late and reporting to work. To find out you need to look at the data, not use anecdotes or make unsupported assumptions. I expect a report showing the percentage of trains delayed, the average amount of time a delayed train is late by and a figure for the proportion of people effected on my desk first thing in the morning.

French toast in French is pain perdu, meaning "lost bread", i.e. bread that is fit for nothing else. In Polish the word translates as "king's bread". I feel this is somehow profound and revealing.
