Usually you're better than this. But yeah, your employer or favorite company is sort of leaving you without much anmo. Just say it all really starts coming together in 5.0, or 16.8, or 42.42. Just pick some dumb arbitrary numbers now. It doesn't matter what version you pick because the "here's what's going to be in x.xx!!!! Hype!!!!" On day 0 is going to be totally different than "uh.. don't get too excited but this is what's actually in x.xx. Remember it's alpha please..." on day +365, which is also going to be 335 days after the day 0 promised release date. Doesn't even really matter anymore.  Sorry your company loving sucks and puts you in these positions.

So MoMA (or anybody else), what is actually supposed to be in 3.0 now? Loading transitions to Planet maps at least? A few more broken ships? Extra male clothes/armor? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess "anything that requires genuine programmer talent to implement" is pretty much off the table.
