'Throwing a paddy' is what my Irish family call throwing a babyish temper tantrum. My grandad's name was Paddy too so maybe they're just dissing him, who knows. Fun bit in Radiohead's set; in 'No Surprises' the lyric 'Bring down the government, they don't speak for us' got a huge cheer. The kids are all right.

It's actually "throwing a Paddy attack" and became a popular phrase during the original struggles, but may go back as far as Cromwell, the "joke" being that the Irish didn't have weapons and were a pretty rubbish threat in the beginning. That was of course until they worked out that breaking into armouries would provide them with said weaponry. (Forgive me I would have phrased that better if it were not 2am)

They shouldn't have bothered - the jump in quality after he was locked in was so huge that even Peter Tatchell was shouting "No, leave him!" at the TV. The format has aged pretty well, and Ayoade isn't a bad host even if he isn't Richard O'Brien, but it's obvious that commercial breaks are much longer than they used to be. There used to be three games in the first and last Zones and four in the middle two; now there's one less in each.

I feel that if you tied Louie Spence to a chair so he was forced to use his words and not his obnoxious prancing he's a pretty funny and interesting guy. I liked him on the one or two panel shows where he wasn't allowed to hog the entire screen at length with whatever the gently caress those moves are meant to be, cuz dancing they ain't. But on Crystal Maze I literally spent the first bit hoping aloud he'd be put in a task that would trap him in a room and cheered when that did happen. He's so loving annoying jesus christ.

I started to type out a personal story of a police shooting in California that took place near my house. A warning that giving cops guns leads to fatal shootings even when there's money for training and new cops. But if the Tory party is willing to automatically assume the guilt of the person being shot than dead poor people and minorities would be a feature instead of a bug. Edit quote:Alfonso Limon was shot in the leg as Officer Ryan Lockner fired back at Zepeda, who started the gunfight, officials said. Limon fell, unable to escape the scene. Edit 2: I almost forgot, the officers were exonerated by the DA. He said it was a tragedy, but it was also an accident. RandomPauI fucked around with this message at 02:28 on Jun 24, 2017 |

There was actually a licensed video game for the c64 made based on the Wimpy chain in the 1980's. In it you had to had to guide the mascot over the different layers of the burger causing them to fall and crush insects that were chasing after you. You won the level when the burger was completely made, ready to be served to the customers, crushed bugs and all.
