For a thing that they update on weekly basis, they sure waited until the Avocados date had passed to announce an up to a month delay. It's almost as if there is zero thought put into their estimates and the regular updates are just another marketing trick. Also, a month delay, for the early testing of a pre-alpha build.

Is 3.0 actually the old 2.6? Or is it not even up to what was promised there. I can't remember all these numbers because their meaning changes daily. I can at least know that bigger numbers have less in them than smaller numbers.

So it seems they ran out of money. But there is a good news. CIG uk has taken out a (presumably) big old loan, which you can take a look at on their filing. They have split the terms with F42 so you can read it in their filing too. The collateral for the loan? Everything. All game rights, recordings they've made including music, future tax credits, any insurance policies they've taken out. Any agreements they've made with anyone else (sponsors, membership fees). It's section 4 / 5. It doesn't list the amount of the loan but I would assume with that security it is a substantial one. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08815227/filing-history https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08703814/filing-history shrach fucked around with this message at 13:14 on Jun 24, 2017 |

Will the loan show up when they have to publish their books? Funny they take the loan a week after publishing their books, even if it was for 2016s year.

This completely confirms what sources recently told me, and which I recently reported. Cao Ni Ma posted:Will the loan show up when they have to publish their books? Funny they take the loan a week after publishing their books, even if it was for 2016s year. Yeah, it will. As to disclosure, remember when I wrote this on June 12th? http://dereksmart.com/forums/topic/sc-scoop/#post-5325 Excerpt: quote:Section 19 is very curious. Due to the huge restated amount of £2.4m ($3.0m) from 2015, it reads like the sort of thing that would result from either a govt audit, or them just cleaning up their books in order to pass any due diligence muster. Also, as they’re now taking tax credits, it makes sense that these sort of numbers should be devoid of any such discrepancies, or they would also be in some serious problems with the govt. If you look at the chart from the previous analysis, with these restated numbers, it is now also clear that though the company doesn’t sell anything, they’re using money received from the parent (the backer piggy bank) company, as their income/turnover cash flow. It would show the amount if it were taken out in the year of the accounts (Next CIG accounts are for the year ending 31 December 2016). Something this substantial when there was already a disclaimer in the CIG accounts for going concern may put a note in as a post balance sheet event. Would be some note saying something like, "after the year end the company ran out of cash but is still a going concern because it secured a long term loan". The amounts probably wouldn't be disclosed until they are in the relevant accounting period. Also to answer the obvious question. Coutts & Co were the bank. Coutts is owned by RBS. RBS is owned 73% by the UK Government.

This is legitimately the biggest blow to SC since the evaporation of SQ42 prelude's release last year and the Spectrum-focussed convention. 'We absolutely have enough money to finish the game as promised' vs. using the entire loving thing as collateral? The only question is what stupid fuckwit decided to actually grant the loan on those terms.

So they rolled 2.7 into the 3.0 update. 3.0 has a YUGE list of features, so made a convenient excuse for the delays and mollified the Fast forward a year. 3.0 has been delayed forever. So they're cutting the YUGE list of features to the bone to get it out "early" (it's still 6 months late by their own hosed up schedule). So, what the backers are actually getting in 3.0 is a rebranded 2.7 that's well over a year late at this point. It's a massive and not particularly subtle shell game.

To bank with Coutts you must have at least £1,000,000 in tangible assets and in any event they are selective about their clientele; which implies CIG is doing well. It is a good sign. They wont get a loan if they were in bad shape.
