Guyver 2: Dark Hero staring David Hayter is probably the worst movie from my childhood that I un-apologetically still love today. I chalk it up to basically being a violent-as-gently caress version of the Power Rangers.

When I was very young, I liked "Dot and the Kangaroo" a lot. A few years ago I found it on DVD for cheap, and it was way crazier than I remembered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtrYO-Mog60 I don't think it's bad, but it's much weirder than my memory of it is.

I LOVED Krull and Ator. Basically any cheesy sword and sorcery type movie. I saw Ator in the theater when I was maybe 6 years old and in my memory it was the most intense imaginative thing I had ever seen. I thought about that movie for YEARS. How great was that huge spider at the end?? Then I found a download online and snatched that up, prepared to watch an epic fantasy movie. What a stupid piece of poo poo movie.

That poo poo should be hilarious, but it's just this big bowl of plain oatmeal with a pocket pussy dropped in it. That's the whole movie, really. I can give it this-- Angie Everhart is the best succubus I've ever seen in any media. It did lead to "I'M FROM BUENOS AIRES AND I SAY KILL 'EM ALL" and I doubt we would have gotten such an absurd location without the book. It'd just be like Malibu or some other poo poo.

King Vidiot posted:Speaking of, has anybody actually sat through Dr. Otto and the Riddle of the Gloom Beam? I figure that any kid who was an Ernest fan would enjoy that movie too, but it was just one of those things that nobody really talked about. I never saw it, I never heard of anybody seeing it, I just remember that cover art and wondering what the gently caress was up with Ernest and why he had a hand on his head. I had a brief window as a kid where I loved the Ernest stuff. That whole umbrella can be tossed into this thread, but yeah, Dr. Otto is objectively a bad movie. And I'm pretty sure part of me knew it at the time, but watching it again later, oof. A lot of the characters were brought back later when there was that weird Saturday morning Ernest sketch show for kids that he did. My favorite was the big tin-can robot with the yellow paper smiley face that would change expressions in-between shots. This guy: Another movie for this thread: The Monster Squad. When I was a kid it was so rad seeming: They're kids...and they fight monsters! Watching it far more recently, they're kids...who fight monsters. And kids suck, and kids never shut up. And the jokes really don't land at all.
