EDH is actually the best format because it lets you play both competitive and casual to taste while never having to touch the garbage fire that Standard is likely to be at any given time.

I'd say it's better. Monarch is a fantastic mechanic for multiplayer, much better than dethrone was. Draft the B/W monarch deck and laugh from behind your wall of Garrulous Sycophants.

Make sure you grab a Burger King crown or something, though, it makes it like ten times as satisfying.

Now that Marvel and cat are both finally gone. I think Standard is going to be in a pretty good place with most color combinations having validity. B/W planeswalkers is also viable again, so for that I am grateful.

Has anyone used Wizards' damaged product return process? I used one before a few years back but it looks like they have a different process in place now. I filled out their form and it said they would email me but they haven't sent any sort of automatic confirmation, and the whole "set a date/time for pickup" is odd. I'm wondering what the turnaround time is for this these days.

I got Bolas Archenemy and half a dozen cards in the Chandra deck were stuck together, and came apart like this:

Quoting this as a follow-up. Wizards responded to my ticket four or five days later, with a goofy role-playing email that didn't mention the weird fedex pickup thing at all. I just got the replacement cards yesterday, in a bubble mailer in sleeves and top loaders, with a note and no indication that I had to ship back the damaged cards. No bonus boosters like the last time I replaced anything, so overall kind of a meh experience.

Seriously though the ticket response was goofy as hell. Here:

Oh man. I originally started back when every store had more lovely Fallen Empires packs than they knew what to do with, and I made so many terrible decks based around trying to get Ebon Praetor and Breeding Pit online.

Breeding Pit had cool art too:

My dad made a mostly abortive attempt at being a small-time magic dealer back in the day. We had filed it away as a failure until a few years ago I was going through his attic and found:

- sealed box of antiquities
- ~90 loose packs of antiquities
- sealed box of Revised starter decks
- sealed booster box of Revised
- ~50 loose revised boosters
- Sealed box of The Dark
- like literally 16 sealed boxes of Fallen Empires (sigh)

I ended up using the Fallen Empires to do a giant drunken sealed event at my bachelor party, heh.

It's fine. I do prefer the first as the draft matter cards were more fun and some of the bombs very "draft around" and games felt very swingy

Conspiracy 2s focus was on the cards that added abilities to named cards. So if you grab a load of those you power up your poo poo creatures. It is easy to draft this terribly first time and have a crap deck but it is still fun.

C1 > C2 IMO but I won't fight about it. they are both good enough and relatively cheap for a fun evening of 8 man magic.

The chances of them doing Elves or another evergreen tribal type was pretty much 0% as soon as they announced four decks, though. Especially once we got 5c dragons.

I'm glad we're getting unusual creature types for tribal builds, tbh.
