I appreciate hiding the musical spoiler with an alternate title
But I appreciate even more that TDC was one of the Nier tracks to get a remake, and I imagine we will soon hear the full version

also this is giving me Pacific Rim flashbacks, especially with the EMP burst and the water

Grün might make for a slog in terms of gameplay, but dang if the music and cinematic quality doesn't make up for it.

It wasn't very nautical when it was used in the first Nier. But it's awesome either way. I definitely appreciate the organ version, too.

On the one hand, I appreciate the big, drat heroes moment for Pascal and friends. On the other, I worry that Pascal and friends do not have a way to come back from destruction or EMP.

We need to go destroy this giant robot’s cannon stick out of the back of its head.

All the EMP shielding in the world won’t help against close-range mortar fire.
Alright. Well, if close range mortar fire is out of the question...
...Let’s put a bit of distance between us and Grün and see how that shakes out.

I kinda feel bad about the last one, cause you did make a cool moment, but the whole point is that your new beach gun IS the close range mortar fire.

I hope I'm not the only one who thought it was a missed opportunity not naming him Hobbes. Even if the naming scheme rarely has anything to do with the actual machine, that would have been a perfect choice.

I"m not always able to watch the videos but this one was so worth it.

Then again I'm constantly getting blown away by the art direction throughout the whole game so far. It really is hard to believe that this is the sequel to Nier.

Meanwhile I...I'm not sure what two androids and best friend Pascal are supposed to be able to do against a robo Godzilla. :ohdear:

Y'know I was originally just shitposting about the similarities but this is getting uncomfortably similar, right down to defending a beach assault via giant zappy cannon and it only pissing off the Doom Whale even more. Is Grün going to turn out to be 2B's dad?

Hell, even knowing it spoils something, I don't know what that something is. Was 2B originally created as a ballerina-droid or something? :v:

The end of game twist is that 9S is a mass-produced music box insert who gained sentience and occasionally reverts to form, spinning in place whenever music starts playing

Given how many times they've warred and lost and rebuilt, it's entirely possible that they don't have aircraft or escort ships available. I think they're using the carrier as a cargo transport, and that's why they were gonna load those missiles onto it. I mean, there isn't much call for giant loving missile launchers on a standard carrier, right?

I guess so. That just makes me wonder how this thing has managed to survive to this point though, considering it seems to be so lightly defended. If 2B and 9S hadn't been in the area then it probably would have been sunk by a bunch of lil' hovercraft stubbies.

You know what a satellite laser cannon would be super handy for? Taking out large fixed structures that the enemy uses to pump out more soldiers. You know, factories.

I guess flying a squadron of incredibly expensive and high-in-demand flight units over the open ocean directly into the enemies' crosshairs was just more fun? Or maybe the commander just really hated those androids.
