COWABUNGA DUDES!
🥷🐢😬

Rob does a bass solo (a good chunk of which is similar to Cliff's old one he would do before For Whom The Bell Tolls - which is a shame they don't lead into that afterwards, but they'd already played it) while videos of Cliff are shown on the massive screen behind them.

Something about the delivery on the screamed/shouted vocals really reminds me of Peter Dolving on rEVOLVEr

rEVOLVEr and The Dead Eye are some of my favorite records from a Swedish band. Peter Dolving is a weird, polarizing fucker, but as a front-man he was pretty off the hook.

I never said he wasn't a great singer who didn't put out classic material (way before most people on this dead forum were born), but you guys are inventing an alternate reality where he was putting out killer new albums after the '80s.

We were celebrating him because he is one of the greatest founding fathers of heavy metal just for all the groundwork he laid and the enormous influence he had, his post-80s material totally notwithstanding. Nobody said anything about his discography before you came along all "well ACTUALLY".

Besides you're still wrong.

To be fair, not nonemany of the big bands in the 80s have managed to do that.
Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest have basically been doing Best of the 80s for the last 20 years or so.
Dio is still a legend and his story about how Gene Simmons started with the Devils sign is still great.

Edit:
I have great memories of driving over pedestrians in GTA while rocking out to Dio

I wish Iron Maiden was playing their '80s greatest hits instead of shouting the name of the song over and over for five straight albums

You know, I was aware he did stuff like this to start with but it never occurred to me to check it out. This is actually nice. Though the nerd that I am I can't help but think "this sounds like it should be in a Fallout game." :v:

I like Dio (the band) well enough but for me Rainbow will always be the #1 RJD thing.

I used to work with Dio's niece. She hardly knew him because he had been cut off by the family for all sorts of drunken antics including passing out and pissing on a family members couch.

She was young and hardly knew anything about him so it was funny to have to tell her he's a rock god. I never really liked his style but there's no denying he's a legend.

I was willing to overlook the lovely soundblaster era midi horns in the intro, but then they brought them back later in the song. :negative:

Beyond that it is pretty fun though.

And I waited through that whole cheeseball video hoping for a Forrest Gump cameo.

I actually don't mind the midi horns though I feel like I should

I mostly just like that their vocalist is not going full high-pitched cheese, and the choral choruses for lack of a better term scratch a certain itch

Is there a metal record that lends itself to tender sex / love-making? Last night, I tried the Lumineers and Explosions in the Sky and, while I love myself some folk-ish / post-rock feel, I often felt like my partner was falling asleep. Any recommendations?
