I'm genuinely astonished that no one on the right has pitched a 'single payer' plan that is functionally just a massive guaranteed government income stream toward the medical and pharmaceutical companies the way that the Bush-era prescription drug plan for Medicare was.

(It would still be better than what we have now, too.)

It's why worries of "running out" of oil are basically chicken little.

Oil shouldn't be as widely used for lots of reasons, but depletion isn't one of them.
