Finally found the time to watch Fargo S2 on Hulu, and you can put me in the loved it even more than S1 column. All of the early aliens and UFO references got my hopes up that the show was going to just go for it and get weird, and I was not at all disappointed.

I can't tell which one is better. I think they are both perfect. That said s3 was quite the let down especially given s1 and s2, and my love for Carrie Coon.

Are there any good space movies on Netflix/Prime/etc? Something like a space opera, or like Alien, or even like Dark Star?

I can't remember the name to see if it's still on the 'flix, but there's a "space" movie with Dane Cook that is kind of a horror kind of scifi I watched that was pretty good. Dane Cook and Friends are put in a fake spaceship to see how a long trip to mars would affect people, but was it a fake spaceship???? only one way to find out Unrelated to space, everyone go watch To The Bone right now.

Girlfriend's Day is pretty entertaining. You've got Bob Odenkirk being Bob Odenkirk, Toby Huss as a "reformed" Aryan Nation member, some quirky twists and lots of dry humor. Also Andy Richter in a small but delightful cameo. Definitely worth a watch if you like screwball indie comedies.

Prime's got Interstellar. Show people probably hated it and it's VERY Nolan, but I liked it a lot, particularly the space bits.

I mean, it's a full-on space exploration movie with a huge budget. It's by no means perfect, but how many of those do we really get per year? Per decade even? I'm just happy someone like Nolan, who basically has carte blanche to do whatever he wants, decided to that kind of science fiction at least once in his career.

i liked interstellar a lot, but rewatching it as a parent was a lot more emotional and devastating than i expected. i can't even think about rewatching the arrival, or even looper but i probably will because they're both excellent movies.

I want to own Interstellar but every time I feel like buying it, I'm reminded how god-awful the mixing was on that movie. There's no excuse for that in a major studio release.

i enjoyed it a lot more with subtitles on for that very reason. i thought the theater's sound system was just hosed up when i saw it the first time.

I really like Interstellar and love the Soundtrack. Also Hans Zimmer is brilliant. From what I've heard his work in Dunkirk is amazing.

The second act of Interstellar is great but the other two fall flat for me, but I know I'm in the minority being lukewarm on Nolan anyways. Thanks for whoever recommend Goliath on Amazon, I'm only two episodes in but I'm really into it.

I finished Goliath last night and really dug it all. While I didn't care much for the Patti character at first, she really grew on me and the actress really nailed the role. Looking forward to season 2... there will be another, right? With this one and Patriot Amazon is really starting to compete with Netflix for good original content. Working my way through Bosch season 1 now.

Following, Memento, Insomnia and The Prestige had stellar third acts, so it's more of a "post-Batman Nolan" thing I think. e: I think the deal with Netflix not putting Rogue One on the front page is so their servers don't get completely destroyed, they've done that with several big releases that I can recall, where after a few days it would get put on the front page but the first couple days they just quietly slipped it on there precision fucked around with this message at 23:38 on Jul 18, 2017 |

Goliath does the same thing as Bosch, where everyone inexplicably wants to gently caress the main character, but in Goliath Billy Bob is down to literal junkie levels of skinny and goofy looking and he plays it off like "Why in the world are you attracted to me?" Part of what makes the show so good is that he's clearly having such a goofy time with it, like William Hurt is taking his role super seriously and the tone of the plot is often really dark but Billy sounds like he's not even acting, just being his own goofy drat self.

I can think of three women who want to bang Billy Bob in the first 4 episodes alone - the one he does bang, his hooker secretary, and his ex-wife, one of whom even literally has a short monologue about how irresistable he is. With Bosch I guess it's less that a lot of girls wanted to bang him and more that every scene of him banging was filmed like an embarrasing softcore skinemax porn

I appreciated that Goliath skirted the "rear end in a top hat with a heart of gold" trope and kept us suspicious all the way through that Billy Bob's character was really just doing it to stick it to his old partner. And that that kind of vindictive, relentless dog-with-a-bone gristle is actually what makes for a great lawyer.

It's solid though. I'm pretty sure at this point Amazon is beating Netflix in a "quality vs quantity" way. Like I swear every single time I open up Netflix there's some new "Netflix Original Show" that I have never heard anything about.
