Should mention for benefit of anyone not aware that Evans is mainly a radio presenter for the Beeb - his show has the largest audience in the country.

No idea who the highest-paid actor they have is. Probably Cumberbatch and Freeman whenever they do Sherlock.

The highest paid-actor is genuinely someone from Casualty. Which is like.....I dunno, soap opera medical drama I've never seen an episode of. I have no idea who the actor is either. It's baffling. It's been going for a long time but that paycheque was genuinely surprising.

Apparently Sherlock doesn't count since it's under BBC Worldwide or something

Don't need to watch post show talk shows. I enjoy his podcast. If AMC didn't hire him, they'd have hired Ryan Seacrest or someone else.

I liked the podcast in it's early years when Chris Hardwick was just some washed up MTV personality and his guests were his actual friends and acquaintances, but success definitely ruined him and post-Talking Dead is mostly just him talking about how rich and successful he is to bored celebrities. I think the exact episode I bailed was when he had Paul McCartney on to promote Destiny and somehow managed to spend most of the interview talking about his haters on Twitter and how hard it is to be successful.

Luckily it pays pretty well for its crew. Its actually kind of lovely that people are kicking off over these figures in the UK when rival companies pay people like Ant & Dec millions upon millions.

Yeah, it's a really obvious Tory ploy to get people to hate the BBC. Most of the outraged people will have no idea that their equivalents on privately-owned channels earn way way more.

But still gently caress Chris Evans and also Gary Lineker for truly revealing his champagne socialist colours wrt all this.

I'm pretty sure there was an alt.tv.friends Usenet group if you really wanna go there.

I recall Ross/Rachel being inexplicably popular, and I never understood why. Chandler and Phoebe are the best.

Old Town Road to EGOT

@midnight was great for a couple years there but I'm struggling to remember the last funny episode of it I saw. Even the last few times I've seen series champions like Ron Funches and Doug Benson on there, they weren't especially funny. I'm okay with it being cancelled. Chris Hardwick seems to have a new show popping up every other month anyway so it's not like he'll be missed.

I checked out of @mid (not that i followed it religiously or anything) when the number of skits and chris rants took a sharp uptick. You could see the boredom on the guest's faces every time one of those started up.

SHINee's back

We used to have debates on the playground during elementary school about whether Ross and Rachel were on a break. Friends was so big you didn't need the internet to know people's opinions. Ross and Rachel were def in favour over Ross Rachel and Joey, a view I also agree with.

Monica and Chandler are the best of them all, tho.

Monica and Chandler eventually did come to make sense as they're both petty neurotic assholes with no self esteem (but woof that fat suit gimmick was godawful even for the time) but I think it would have made a lot more sense to have the "wasted potential gen x loser" pair up with the "whimsical gen x flower power girl". I demand tactical realism from my sitcoms, bah gawd.

I know, I know, we try not to sexualize Phoebe, but she was easily the most attractive of the three.
