Is there something especially galling about the recent rounds of sanctions that has particularly pissed off Russia? I read that article about how Putin gets 50% of the spoils from the oligarchs in exchange for letting them loot the country but I didn't really get a good feeling for why these sanctions in particular upset that balance. Have we actually gone around freezing their money stashes or disrupting their money laundering systems in any meaningful way, or has the mere threat of us doing so been enough to cause the oligarchs to semi-panic?
