My favored alternate history story would be a country in which all the slaves were repatriated after the Civil War. A small minority of black Africans would remain because they came here voluntarily before, during and after the war and had the means to survive and thrive on their own. For the good of both people, let them go their separate way. The blacks can run their lives the way they want and then so can the whites.

There are separatist movements in both races, and there are also those that want to stay together. Maybe the best solution is three countries, a black one, a white one and a mixed one.

I agree with you. Americans hate political hypocrisy when it is exposed (which the media will never do to the left). But when the Dems oppose Sessions after he drops the boom on them, Trump will certainly point out their hypocrisy in supporting him earlier.
