Of course they found a body, what kind of faked death would satisfy the Feds if there wasn't a body?? Silly question Metapod posted:There's a belief that he did because the car that was crashed was not his usual car and the bridge being empty was too convenient + his wife sending monthly wire transfers to an account in Belize

Dexo posted:Did they find a body? Oh yeah. My son's ex worked for him at Chesapeake- not for him directly, but in the inner circle. They were totally convinced he was murdered because he'd said that the price fixing or w/e he was indicted for was common industry practice (it is) and he hinted he was going to drag some other big players down with him. I think it's implausible, my cold take is the guy was that big an egotist to check out rather than face the indignity.

New fans looking for young cool teams that aren't necessarily super good but show a lot of promise: Milwaukee Bucks - Giannias is a Greek God with the longest arms and can legally take two strides from half court and dunk the ball. Jabari is pretty good if he can stay healthy. Delly owned a toddler in the NBA finals so hard they had to poison his coffee to get him out the game. Philadelphia 76ers - Philly fans are the platonic ideal of a sports fan. The average atmosphere for a game in Philly is cloudy with a chance of D-Cells. If Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons can stay healthy they should be really fun but not that good. Minnesota Timberwolves - Karl Anthony Towns, Jimmy Buckets, some other dudes I guess. KAT is pretty good, their coach is greasy, they're okay I guess.

I think whoever you choose, leave yourself some emotional room to switch after a few years. A lot of the better young teams right now are also historically poorly run at an ownership level, or have incredible bad luck as a franchise. You don't want to be locked into something like that if you don't have to.

the correct answer to "What team should I root for?" is, "Watch some games until you know enough to decide for yourself"

I was more excited about the wolves before they traded for butler. They could have drafted Markkanen and see if he could add to their young core. Now the Perkeleator is stuck in Chitown and handsome Ricky is gone

Just watch a bunch of games of teams when you can and if one sticks out or you like a player go with it. or if you like white bread, roller coasters that only go in a straight line at a moderate speed, Ford Focuses, tap water and neutral paint colors, be a Pacers fan. Even though it's unpopular because everyone hates the Warriors right now, they basically play basketball porn and are in the midst of one of the greatest runs in the history of the sport. If you watch a Warriors game in which they're playing about 26 to 27 other teams in the league, even as an outsider, you'll notice the talent and execution differential is insane. They've got a core group of 4 (Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala) that have been together for about 5 years now so they're very familiar with one another and their passing is insane. The best recent soccer analogy I can think of is basically a more aggressive Barcelona/Team Spain from about 5-6 years ago when they were an unstoppable force. Sure, tons of people will rag on you for being a front runner, etc, but just understand deep down that this was a franchise mired in absolutely terrible mismanagement for the better part of its existence, that the true fans have absolutely suffered for most of their adult lives (I'm 32 and for the sentient years from about 7 until 27 I can remember them being absolutely terrible with the exception of about 4 seasons during that 20 year span) and, after you do a little research and can drop things in a sentence like "Run TMC, Baron Davis, We Believe, Zarko Cabarkapa, Bobby Sura, the Tim Hardaway crossover etc, they'll generally leave you alone.

Long suffering is a silly thing to claim for most fans because you could probably argue the majority of NBA franchises are long suffering. Kind of like how those "Why Your Team Sucks" NFL articles aren't pure fiction or exaggeration until they get to like day 25. Being a sports fan of any sport or team has a high probability of putting up with garbage for extended periods of time

NBA's parity has unintentionally created a sea of disappointed fans. Unless you grew up a Celtics, Lakers, or Bulls fan you spent most your life either watching your favorite players lose in the most heartbreaking fashion or seeing your team transform into a bandwagon gently caress fest where everyone hates you for living in or near Miami.
