Grabbing a crate definitely reveals you; I got my Reaper captured by the Assassin thanks to not knowing that on my first pass, and savescummed it away on the grounds that it was a cheap shot I could not possibly have predicted. Funny story on that note; it turns out that on a supply recovery mission, so long as you grab even a single crate, it counts as a successful mission. Things went dramatically bad for me and I had to mark one crate, then retreat a turn later with heavy wounds (got a VERY bad activation with relatively low-ranked troops). The squad was all smiles and Bradford was patting himself on the back afterwards.

Along these lines, I noticed in one of Beagle's streams that he sometimes hovers over an enemy, presses a key, and then gets a detailed stat sheet on it. Does anyone know what key he's pressing?

Chose Shredder as her Corporal Perk, then didn't get to choose a Sergenat perk. Turns out, Shredder was also the random Training Center perk she would have gotten access to at Sergeant rank, so choosing it at Corporal broke the promotion mechanic and also locked it in as her Sergeant perk, meaning I have to spend her AP if I want the Sergeant perk. Now all that's left is test out wether she double-shreds or wether it's a complete waste. Hi, the first half of your post is explained by the second half of your post. It's got nothing to do with the resistance order. Your grenadier rolled the spark's shred, which isn't supposed to be in the training center pool. In my last mission my soulless walking deathmachine SPARK shot his flamethrower through a crowded burger joint to hit two Stunlancers, incinerating several civilians in the process. A nearby shopping center was also leveled by numerous grenades/rockets/exploding purifier tanks before my hockey-mask-wearing, Mad Max-knockoff Ranger beat a woman unconscious and abducted her into the Skyranger. Are we the terrorists?

If you play with integrated DLC, do the Rulers appear in their normal sequence or a random one in their respective facilities? Just asking because I'm not sure wether I hosed up remembering the sequence in which they popped up. In related news, I'm still on mag weapons and just unleashed the Archon King. Also met the Hunter, but his first outing was just about the worst it could have gone for him. He's vulnerable to explosives, and I met him in a tunnel map with the High Explosive SitRep. Poor guy didn't even get to do anything except fire a snapshot and trow a stun grenade. Magni fucked around with this message at 23:19 on Sep 6, 2017 |

I think they spawn at facilities as you discover them in the standard order (viper, berserker, archon), but when you encounter them depends on which facilities you hit. I just finished my first WoTC campaign and never saw the Viper, for example.

On a Lost/ADVENT mission every pod on the map just auto-triggered themselves because of the lost. A lost smacked a codex who split and teleported right behind me, end of turn 1, auto-revealing everyone. It's a six turn Gatecrasher.

I could have sworn they used to be just floating on the map in their respective areas but I can't see anything. I think you need Resistance Comms and Radio to see what the bonuses are. In other news my second L/I run is going pretty well now that I've stabilised. Plenty of strong troops and a Reaper/Sharpshooter team with dragon rounds that just gently caress up everything they see, The Lost just get wrecked so I feel comfortable saturating ADVENT field commanders on dinner bells so they barely get a shot off in my direction. The early game is super variable with mission and chosen types being massive modifiers on how hard things will be. Assassin on your first retaliation with Shadowstep? Good luck! Oh, we gave you a lost mission with two free ranger VIPs, good for you. It feels like the problems of Gatecrasher rng spread over a month, but once you clear that you've got so many good tools to offset the enemy tricks with Covert Ops allowing you to collect all the extra XP and engineers and resources you need. And this is all without the Europe bonus I'm gunning for, instant resistance contact without scanning, just Intel spend, which is huge, granting you potentially 2 months worth of scanning time. Balance wise I feel like the abilities come from the Blizzard school of making near all of it overpowered. Two tile concealment radius for Reapers. Remote Start. Rend & Parry. Various abilities that break the action economy over its knee like the Headshot mechanic. Psi Ops in general. It's kinda ridiculous how many toys you get if you can survive the early game.

Question about modding: is it possible for a campaign to be plagued by bad performance from a mod even after removing said mod? Question about Lost XP: Some missions allow you to farm XP from the Lost until your graphic card dies from rendering the corpses. You only get one promotion per mission, but I heard you can stack XP so that if you kill enough Lost you can get 1 promotion on later missions even if you get no kills on those missions. True or BS?

Is there a bug or something in WoTC with Advent trooper corpses? I have not sold any as far as I can remember, and the game won't let me make Predator armor since I only have 5/6. Is it connected with the kind of missions I do, where a run & gun mission won't let me take corpses with me, but rather I need a "kill everything" type of clean-up mission to get some corpses?

There are definitely issues in Vanilla XCOM 2 which long war 2 had to fix regarding persisting excessive game states. The issue with that persistence is the serialisation of those states need to be transferred between strategic and tactical, so if a mod doesn't clean house it tends to fill up with garbage such as unit states from all missions. It's hard to tell what this mod is doing that would cause it, but I have a feeling old serialised data from that mod could be a culprit. Which mod is it?

Unsubscribing from mods doesn't remove them from your workshop folder on disk, maybe clear them out there too? This is an annoying problem with the game, as it still notices folders, and they can conflict with one another even when disabled (mod authors can never subscribe to their own mods without annoying poo poo happening).

Did they change the way Spark stealth works? It thought as long as you don't move them they count as a soldier in full cover for the purposes of stealth. Problem is I have no idea what mod would even be causing performance issues. I started this campaign with some cosmetics that hadn't been properly updated which I removed about halfway through it. I enabled Gotcha Again around the time my performance started to dive but I know other people run that without any sort of performance hit, and if I start a new campaign it seems to cause no issues. I disabled SWMT because it apparently doesn't do anything yet, and the mods I needed the config menu for aren't updated. The mods at the bottom haven't been updated for WotC but don't seem to cause any issues. At least they didn't for the first half of the campaign. They just don't actually get cover bonuses. Unrelated: is there something permanently sapping will in this game? I just noticed my colonel sniper went from 48 will to 40 will, which is lower than half the rookies I have available. None of my chosen have the 'brutal' strength. Do you just lose some will every time you become tired or something?
