If anyone's gameplay/stream footage of T114 BAT shows up then toss out a link please, and not just test drive stages where the lazyass youtuber doesn't touch the HESH. Not that I'm tempted to drop 8000 GE and learn to love it or anything.

I've been saving Golden Eagles from various sales around the year for the Anniversary sale here at the end of October, right now my only planned purchase is the Ru-251 and then just whatever looks fun with what I've got left. Assuming it's a part of the sale saving half off on that should be worth the wait.

Nah. People already know where the spawns are and they can pretty easily figure out where the bad guys appear. Keeping them from driving into the far backfield solves the problem of assholes sitting in an optimal spot waiting for the next guy to appear and makes sure the people spawning in have at least some idea which way the enemy is about to try to blast them from. because came finally out and player controlled carriers are never going to happen apparently most of the best sim players jumped ship to the new IL2 cause it loving owns lol when they put french planes or something in the game

I think a lot of wehraboos dropped it when the changes to solid shot and stuff like the IS-6 and T29 killed off the KTs dominance so that might've contributed to that - at least that's about the same time I started seeing longer queue times (and definitely fewer allies vs axis games). I also don't think gaijin has been doing a very good job promoting the game in general (no e-sports stuff since what, 2015?) and the older playerbase might've burned itself out a good extent. I'd be curious to see what the numbers look like for new account registrations by month for the past 2 years or so.

Sim tanks is as active as ever, and EC seems to be more popular now too with lots of rooms going at once in nearly every tier (although only a couple will be packed). I have noticed a small dip in activity the last week or two within my squad, but only because people are waiting for the imminent tier 6 content patch.

I think ore and more are realizing what tanks are. 've taken to Tanks Assault PvE to spade them and it's a piece of profitable super fast frustration-less cake, plus it doesn't steal free repairs so you can keep your 10 repairs and bring a spaded tank into actual combat. It's becoming more fun and engaging than drive point A, click playertanks, get clicked from across the map behind two forests and a village, respawn, get CAS-spammed. Seems many want to see tanks+boats get maps of a PvE kind that Air has instead of Capture X Hold Y.

Tier 3 and 4 has some decent dogfights in full rooms, though. I've mostly been playing jets lately and all I want now from war thunder is century series fighters. This upcoming patch will have new more realistic penetration values for rockets, so only the better pilots who are used to accurate top down attacks will be dominating anything other than light tanks.

The CAS spam is a way overblown issue anyway. A youtuber (MikeGoesBoom) made a video about how easy it is to spawn a plane in CARB about a month ago, with the effect that allied teams started getting a ton of people who don't know how to use CAS planes were rushing in with lovely vehicles and jumping to planes accomplishing nothing before being eliminated. Matches where I've seen 4 uptiered SPAA J out after capping a point have also been matches where I've seen some of the most ineffective CAS in the game.

I kind of clocked out when I realised ground grind was insane and a waste of time. I might drop back in if I get a year's premium for basically free in the sale again but there's just no point trying to progress in tier v without it and while I'm interested in cold war tanks if tier VI is the same I can't imagine I'll stay.

It's a fun game to play just for the sake of playing it though. You don't have to constantly be unlocking a new thing for it to be enjoyable.

Yeah but eventually you feel like you've basically played out a given tank and want something new to chew on and that goes from being a pretty natural progression at lower tiers to being "Lol gently caress you" at high tiers.

Then you have a pile of other tanks in other lines to play? I alternate between Germans and Soviets, keeps things fresh. I also love CAS in realistic/sim tanks. I think the reason the grind never bothered me is I'm mostly happy playing with my crappy rank 1 and 2 toys for every country. Sometimes I just get the urge to dive bomb something in a stuka, shoot some guys down in a hurricane, or shoot some crap tanks with my Stug III. I've never felt much desire to push towards the jets or cold war era tanks. My current goal is to get some soviet tanks that don't suck.

every single tier in this game is great and has its own little quirks that you can min/max. the game is seemingly setup so that if you focus on a single tree you can eventually get a jet through normal play but what ended up happening was a lot of us nerds just ended up unlocking everything. it got to the point where some goons had quite literally done everything in the game from shoot down jets in prop planes to bombing high tier tanks with poo poo like po2s and shooting down planes with long reload TDs its gonna take more ships or a new gamemode to really breathe proper life back into this game. givem really good anti air

What I am saying is that everyone should've just spent around 120-150 or so real life american dollars, bought nazigeld from me back in the day and literally got all the premiums. My premium tree is full of planes still that I've never touched, and most of my normal planes above 3-tier are talismaned. Good times. Related, I did check out some of my old transaction logs and I'm sure they'll be used against me in the future when I look for a federal job. For me, the best of times in this game were gooning up in that E-sport thingy, which owned (and were we got owned), and the Sim Tank-PLane combined arms missions that had tanks and plane setups and no tiers, just "you get one plane and like, two mediums, or one heavy"-style matchup. I played that game mode religiously with my joystick and track IR and I have countless videos of it still saved up. It loving owned. Shoutout to Burno, Lowcard, Muhlump, Valtonen, Lumme, and ArtlessMeat, Ralith, JZilla, Sauer, and OhsH. The game sits at 1300 or so now, so it never really took off the same. I still love the game. The Story of Tuskgoonie Airmen There were also cool and good syncdrops against Nazis every time a goon saw the Ruhr mission pop up, it was like a rallying cry in mumble. "Get your mustangs, it's time to go wreck some nazis". Background info for those unfamiliar: There was a mission that came every now and then that had p47s and P51s against Me262s and Me163s, and the germans had less planes, but obviously "better planes" in pubbies eyes. The queues on american side were almost empty every time, so we realized we could get 16 people together, hit the queue button at the same time, and pretty reliably end all up on the same side. The nazi jet jalopies never had a chance against 16 goons.
