I used to read Hagar a lot as a kid, and I want to say it used to do more than pay lip service to the idea that it's set in the viking age. But I'm not sure.

Some Guy TT posted:Tracksuit Wow, I never in my life expected to see that MacGyver referenced anywhere. For those who haven't seen it, the guy helping him defuse the bomb is the one who made it. MacGyver slowly realizes this, and when he gets to the wire-cutting stage (there's always a wire-cutting stage), the villain tells him to cut one color. MacGyver cuts the other, the bomb is successfully defused, and the dude gets arrested. If I remember correctly, the episode was kind of a mindfuck after that; maybe we'll see the remainder in another Tracksuit.

I think Hagar is just taking the piss. The visual gag of a bikini and an ahistorical horned helmet is funny on its own in a newspaper comic barely even a chuckle sort of way. Wizard of ID has the most confusing setting. Maybe new BC. I was sure it was a postapocalyptic wasteland before but I'm not sure anymore. I think it's both and neither.

I get that it's annoying on some level, but working retail, my favorite thing was when someone asked me to check in "the back". That was all the excuse you needed to go gently caress off and hang out for a few minutes to catch your breath.
