No chance. If it were relevant they would have dropped at least some hints like Jaime commenting on it being a bad idea.

I had to force myself to finish the gunslinger. I won't call a book bad until I've finished it. I thought it was bad enough that I had no urge to move on to the next one. Game of thrones was a much better book in comparison.

Yeah I get your reasoning for that but it's like a disorder with me. I don't like having a book in my collection that I haven't finished. Also there is always the off chance the end could be good enough to justify the slog. That's the only reason I finished "gardens of the moon" and "the darkness that comes before". Mazalan book of the fallen and prince of nothing first books. I love long book series but I can't be bothered to continue on any of those, dark tower included. Edit: talking about awful sex scenes I believe one of those had a barbed demon penis and black semen. Harton fucked around with this message at 03:28 on Sep 11, 2017 |

I know I'm a couple weeks late but what exactly was the Night King's plan if Dany didn't gift him a dragon? e. IIRC from the books it was a horn or something. Or maybe that was fan theory, it's been a while.

The books have no Night King and extrapolating from the show is impossible. In the show he either had no plan or otherwise you can assume he was somehow controlling the entire situation and always knew Dany would bring a dragon up north.

I called the Gendry/Sansa thing as soon as they said Gendry was coming back. I'm hoping that part is real because that paired with my guess that the Night King would kill a dragon with a stupid ice spear makes me 2 for 147 on my "Stupid loving Half Joke Guesses About Really Stupid Things The Show Will Do, But Shouldn't Because They Are Really Stupid Guesses" guess list The only other one I think may work out was that Arya and Sansa are going to have real conflict over the Gendry thing.

GOT had interesting characters right off the bat and got me invested and interested. Just seemed like Steven king was going from weird idea to weird idea with no sense of a bigger picture. the writing is better in the gunslinger than in george rr martin's books. it's better than the writing in other king books. it's unfortunate he didn't like the minimalist style of it. martin and king both have that weakness of wasting way too many words on boring poo poo instead of moving the story forward. that weird dying pseudowestern apocalyptic world was cool too. then he just hosed that poo poo right up in the later books making it metafiction and all the alternate realities. woulda been a lot better had it stuck to midworld. i guess it mirrors game of thrones too in that the politics stuff is good but the fantasy stuff is trash and it'd be a much better series if it had never been in there.
