Yes, but people were wondering why other people would read Rand's books when they were boring. It's because they are political manifestos and the people reading them are doing so for that reason.

They are technically novels, but nobody is reading Rand for the really fleshed out characters. Just like nobody is going into Das Kapital with the expectation that they are going to get a riveting character arc from a lovable protagonist.

Oh, I get it, misunderstood. Yeah, ideology and the rapey protagonist is the big draw I'm sure.

Trump managed to read his teleprompter! Although he still got it a bit wrong and added a "SAD!" to the end of the sentence. How presidential!

e: Trump is truly the most presidential because he embodies "anyone can become president" by proving that the most incompetent, unfit for the task person can be elected. (So long as you have a lot of money and lie a ton.)

The Hadiths say that Muslims should not keep "unclean" animals in their homes. It lays out that the biggest spreaders of disease are rats, dogs, and pigs.

Therefore, lots of Muslims still interpret that to mean that dogs are "unclean" and it is generally frowned upon to have them as pets.

There's also a lot of emphasis on living a life that emulates the Prophet Mohammed (this is why growing a beard is considered a sign of religiosity) and Mohammed had a cat, but turned down the chance to own a dog.

Supposedly, Mohammed even cut off the sleeve of one of his robes rather than wake up the cat who was sleeping on it.

Something that I'm sure anyone who has ever so much as been around a cat can sympathize with.

Only thing I can think of is that Mohammed was famously a cat lover. According to one story, he cut the sleeve off his favorite prayer robe because his cat was sleeping on it and he didn't want to wake the kitty up.

It's honestly the best use of their talents in the dems current minority position, these two are the moderates that cut deals and Trump is desperate for praise and love from the media at large. Why else would he keep screaming about fake news and how small his good boy propaganda folders that tell him how great he is are if he wasn't? You use his addiction for that against his side and you dismantle the GOP.

Very interesting.

I was born and raised in Turkey and that's actually the first time I'm hearing about this. Everyone I know there loves dogs, many keep dogs as pets, others take care of stray dogs and leave food/water outside for them during hot days and blankets during cold days and stuff. Of course Turkey is very moderate, but Ottomans, who were devout Muslims, reportedly took very good care of street animals (including dogs) as well.

Yes, It's mostly just TD being racist and dumb.

There is a real stigma against owning dogs amongst many muslims, but it isn't like they have roving dog executioner squads.

You aren't supposed to keep dogs in your house, but some people (idiots in TD and some idiotic imams) think that this means that they are the devil. It's the same as the weird belief that because pigs are unclean that a muslim will explode into ashes if they touch bacon.
