Pretty cool on the first one, turn based mech strategy games are cool. (The action/third person mech front mission game doesnt count and is poo poo) Zone of the Enders was also really cool and I'm glad its back. orange juche fucked around with this message at 06:11 on Sep 20, 2017 |

Konami is still doing their bi-polar thing on wanting to make games anymore. Saying they won't make AAA games anymore and then announcing a new metal gear after trying to gently caress up the last one. Now a VR remaster for ZOE 2 after they cancelled ZOE 3 just a few years ago. I expect them to announce a new silent hill game pretty soon. I might give this VR remaster a shot if it ends up being good if for nothing else than having a ZOE game on PC.

Mechcommander 1: finally managed to get a hollander 2 as salvage. It's a mech made out of lego blocks with saran-wrap armor thats built around a construction crane sized sniper gun. Totally a one-use mech, doesn't stop me from trying to use it in other roles.

A small pulse lasers, SRM's & flamers build aka the kamikazi. The classic jumpjet gauss sniper. The budget hunchback 2c with ac/20. The ECM specialist with beagle/guardian stuff & ER lasers. The armor build with 2 layers of saran-wrap & LRMs. e: actual Mechcommander 1 gameplay tip. Never let a hunchback 2c get surrounded by enemies. They have saran-wrap rear armor. Harebrained schemes Battletech game(currently in playable multiplayer beta) is essentially turn based Mechcommander 3.0 with the roleplaying game's intiative mechanics. Mechcommander Gold, MechCommander 2, and Mechcommander Omnitech are all good real-time mech commanding combat games. The most newbie friendly game is MechCommander 2, then Omnitech, then Gold. MechCommander 2 has a much better range of usable mechs, and the ability to salvage & redeploy enemy mechs during missions is literally a game-changing mechanic. Tracking down copies via ebay for mechcommander 2 is advised, or you could look elsewhere. If you do try MechCommander Omnitech, download the original unmodified mechcommander 2 campaigns for it. The latest build of MechCommander Omnitech has Nightmare difficulty mode modified campaign files, because the developer on the project is 100% gently caress you GIT GUD. quantumfoam fucked around with this message at 18:05 on Sep 20, 2017 |

Megamek is pretty great. But man that game will the poo poo out of you. Get attacked with a gauss rifle and on the first shot get hit in the gyro's, your mech falls face down into a swamp and your pilot gets knocked unconscious. I've lost a King Crab to some weaponized diesel powered combine harvester that had a single small laser equipped

Megamek: I always forget it/block it from my memory. I blame the somethingawful Lets Play battletech thread for that. The extremely loud true Battletech fans in that thread that seemingly never sleep/never not run any gameplay movement/attack to death. There is nothing wrong with megamek mechanically, those fun-killing spergs killed all interest in megamek matches.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech_Centers http://www.mechjock.com/ Cool to see it wasn't a cruel urban legend, and that the hardware still exists. Looking at the early nineties videos, those pods seem to be running pimped out versions of Mechwarrior 1 or bleeding edge prototypes of Mechwarrior 2 multiplayer(netmech).
