Just reading back through my old posts, finding some classic videos, like this one from August 2011 when poo poo started going sideways for Gadaffi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LtLoros6Uk It was also around this time time 6 years ago that Caro was beaten up and arrested by a Benghazi militia after he attacked a professional photographer trying to help Caro's friend who had just been shot in the leg by a machine gun in Sirte. Wait arent you British? I didn't know the FBI had the jurisdiction to visit you in Britain. Also quick update, I wrote a preamble for the OP of the next thread, which is more of a subjective statement/editorial of the overall state of affairs in the Arab world, next I will write up a quick word summary on the Gulf, specifically Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Tunisia and I'm going to write a bit on Syria, I will announce when I'm done with the new OP a week before I post it so I can give everyone here time to archive their posts for posterity. However for the actual summaries of each countries state of affairs I want to be as objective as possible, I would like to have volunteers to help contribute and write a summary on:- - Yemen. - Syria, Specifically Kurdish affairs in both Iraq and Syria. - Iraq - Iran thanks. The JIT meeting was more official as they interviewed me as a witness, and the FBI visit was more informal. It was just after my James Foley execution geolocation so two of them kept getting sidetracked asking me about that. We've helped them with a couple of other cases where they wondered if we could help figure something out for them, so I've got a positive relationship with them, not like they were slamming my fingers in desk drawers asking me where Caro was. I remember after his release, he started writing a blog somewhere. When he got to the part where he was captured, he stopped writing. He was allegedly spotted in Branch 215, which was the only information regarding his whereabouts that anyone had to work with for a good year or so. Branch 215 is not a normal treatment prison, even by Syrian standards. VDC has a comprehensive report on the place that came out years ago, and I'd imagine a lot of the stories are from the time when Caro might've been there. He sent me some pictures of pretty large scars around his ankle, so I'm guessing they certainly had a few goes torturing him. He also would have been poorly fed as usually you have to bribe guards to feed people properly.

At the point BM posted about people seeing him in the torture hole (turned out to be legit) and that he may have died in there (turned out incorrect but not at all unreasonable) it seems like everybody was pretty sure he was dead.
