Yeah, those strengths are really good. I've been playing a lot of part 9 so I don't mind a minus traps so much, but the minus 2 shift might be a deal-breaker for a lot of people.

Made it into three games so far. Two had the connection drop out but in the third I got to hear the host smugly announce that he'd end the match if he got killed. A few seconds later he left.

Am I wrong or does part 4's run seem a bit faster than other Jasons? Jason is really agile and runs quickly in part 4, so it would be "accurate"

I feel really left behind by a big chunk of the player base who somehow have like 300 or 400+ hours logged into the game. Tonight I was a Jason against a bunch of people who had at least two in their group who were max level, 101. And it was one of the least fun experiences I've had in this game. I killed 3/8... that's the saddest kill count I've had in the game in a long time. But here's the thing, I've owned the game since June and I've only put like 70 hours into it. That's it. I've played Jason like 50 times maybe. And I'm up against people who apparently have played, on average, four hours of this game every single day for the past four months.

e: Like, I just want to have fun and kill or be killed. I never asked for all this 4th-dimensional chess poo poo where I have to worry if that Vanessa I'm chasing is distracting me from all of the other counselors in two organized groups simultaneously setting off all my car and phone traps and healing up with their evenly-distributed health sprays.

Yeah that's a thing. It's pretty absurd how hard some people have gone on this game because honestly prior to the small maps update I was starting to lose interest (granted I'd played almost every weekend since launch) not to mention how unstable the game was on Xbox for months I honestly have no idea how they did it.

They -really- need to re-evaluate how their stats work. How is an 8 in repair different from AJ's and Adam's 7? Repair is one of the few stats that has diminishing returns. Having a 10 in repair just means you have 2-3 checks (really it should be 1 or automatic, but whatever) - whereas AJ and Adam generally have 3 and the occasional 4? It's like "who cares?" Especially with re-rolling being a thing. Repair is nearly up there with Composure as something I consider a dump stat.

Stealth and Composure are similar in that they're binary - you either have it or you don't. However, Composure is essentially a worse version of Stealth. A high stealth will make it where Jason has to use Sense to track you down (which is why a Tiffany and AJ with 10+% Lightfoot is a big deal Jason has to use Sense to find you).

Even with a high Composure, you'll freak out upon seeing a dead body or when the power goes out, etc - just like everybody else. It also doesn't go down any faster the higher it is, etc. It does so little that I question why it exists. And not popping on Jason's Sense (and you will) doesn't matter so much when you make audio pings anyway.

It'd be nice if a high-composure character had a more muted reaction to seeing a body, or didn't scream when the power going out; kept their cool longer in a hiding spot, can run around without their flashlight, etc. But as it stands, once you're experienced in managing your composure, you'll struggle to see much of a difference between high / low composure characters.

I want Jenny to be useful for something, dammit! :(

i like composure a lot because it is a very big deal in an extended chase. if you're only trolling jason around for a few power cooldowns then it's not helpful, but if you're the target of an extended hunt then you lose a LOT of control at max fear. losing both your minimap and your stamina readout is a big, big deal because it damages your ability to plan and seriously increases the likelihood you'll make a mistake. but you're correct, it is not helpful in a vacuum. even in that use case you need sufficient stamina/speed to keep a chase going, which Mitch does not.

I'm going to enjoy having Mitch in my random rotation as "useless guy who has decent repair, I guess". Maybe we'll all start roleplaying Mitch the way we used to roleplay Chad. "Like, chill out hockey dude. Just, center yourself man and take a hit off of this kind bud!"

Would drug use be a no-no for this game? Would it be impossible for Mitch to ever get a "puff, puff, pass" emote? I want to play as Mitch and get killed by Jason because I just stood there offering him a hit off the joint.

Has anybody else in the game had people complain that they "couldn't hear them" over the mic? I have my computer's mic input volume set to like 40% so it's not ear-splitting, and everybody on my mumble can hear me just fine but the players in game complain half the time about not being able to hear me. I guess I could boost the input volume even further but I don't want to go overboard.

I hate to sound whiny but this game needs a way to report players.

I'm sure everyone has had the counselor that leads Jason to all the other counselors at least once and then today I had a guy who got the car going and ran down all the other counselors. Of course he was the host so next game (I was gonna Meele him to death) he quit as soon as jason grabbed him.

Other than giant assholes though, this game is incredibly fun!

I do this all the time because I'm usually That Guy who gets caught with his pants down and needs somebody to get my back and keep me from getting killed. I try to be smart about it usually and I won't run to a car that's being repaired, like if I see all the blips gathered around a car, otherwise if I see another blip and I have nothing but a loving wrench I'm heading for that blip.

I almost always run towards other players when I'm being chased by Jason, because it's funny. If people have mics and play along it often goes like this:

"Oh god help, Jason is coming for me!"

"WELL WHY DID YOU LEAD HIM OVER HERE!?"

"BECAUSE I WAS SCARED AND I NEED YOUR HELP"

"GOD DAMMIT WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE NOW"
