Citizens are touting the newly revealed Consolidated Outland Pioneer jpeg as being the "game changer" ship. It might one day build outposts and whatnot. If they get planets working. With more than 16 players per server. At a decent FPS. Without crashing every electrical device within a 5 mile radius. The Coutt's question: how much are CIG gonna milk the whales for one at CitizenCon? $1k? $2k? $3k? More?

If they finally start selling plots of land then they may have a more expensive bundle.

McGiggins posted:Thread: if Derek does 64 player ucce update eventually as he currently tentatively and provisionally plans to do, will anyone want to play it as a thing for everyone to participate in? uhm, I already did that in Universal Combat (2004) and Universal Combat CE (2007) I dropped it from the 2009 release of UCCE 2.0 (which became the basis of the 2015 version currently on Steam) because I couldn't be bothered to merge the multiplayer, then have to support it. My decision to start designing Line Of Defense that year, coupled with my involved/investment in Alganon, also were a factor. But for the on-going 3.0, I will implement it as a paid DLC depending on demand. I mention it my latest dev update. ---------------- D_Smart fucked around with this message at 18:48 on Oct 18, 2017 |

Don't you have to have a game before you can change it? Also, if one ship can be such a big deal that it can be call a 'game changer' then it is the definition of unbalanced.

Sadly, all the backers of Star Citizen have latched on to SC and are holding fast regardless of whether or not the ship is sinking. It's a bit like a trawler sweeping the sea with a giant net and catching all the fish, sure, a second one could come around and maybe catch the few that the first one missed, but the first one will have the largest amount of fish because it got there first.

I dunno, if there's one thing Lethalities like more than clinging on to doomed ships, it's tribalism, remember how much they hate E:D for having the temerity of being a functional, existing game? That said, if it were a different genre, like, say, a cyberpunk MMO, that might be enough to attract their attention. (Also I love the idea of a 'kraken of failure')

Fresh money only too, no CCUing or whatever. Now you can make an outpost in the Skyrim crater.

The price is going to be dependent on how confident CIG is in their presentation. If it's a huge update/bucket of lies then the price will probably top out close to 1k. If CIG is expecting a disappointing show and are already prepping an apology video then the price is probably closer to 400. The price could cause a backer revolt if they aren't careful with it. We know that it is a blatant moneygrab, but they can't make it obvious to the backers.
