I like how half of the responses are people hand-wringing over how Carter voted in the general in light of this extremely unsettling new information about the primary and another quarter are people getting immediately mad because they assumed it meant he wrote in Bernie in the general for some reason says a lot about the Dem mindset (poo poo)

Give yourself a prize if you predicted that bad dems and their crooked special interest would purge all Bernie/Keith supporters from the DNC. Also despite all the fears over Trump Perez also has been raising laughable amounts of money for the DNC despite his best attempts to court big ticket donors.

i don't think they'll run clinton again, but perez et al are definitely stacking the deck in opposition of future popular challengers. it seems much more likely they'll be pushing for a joe biden than another hrc run; he's evil, but biden has a whole lot of unwarranted favorability on his side, and at-large superdelegate participation could easily influence the primary process without so much as the bat of an eye. it could just as easily be cory booker or some other suit if the advantage presents itself, because what matters is cutting off left-populism from the presidency. the technocrat's psychosis compels them to demonstrate their capacity for leadership at every opportunity. course they're all a bunch of fuckin morons too so it's all wild and wacky

Then the yearly math works out that even after the initial setup tax credits the state is paying them $400k a year per job. We'd literally be getting a better return by paying those people $100k a year to do nothing at all. a lot of these 'tax credit' handouts in other areas have similar absurd outcomes when you compute basic arithmetic. the capitalist economic system naturally encourages these absurd races to the bottom. the tax burden is hilariously getting warped and continuously shifting it to the lower quintiles.

when even kleptocrats don't want to help you DNC members themselves have now been asked to give or raise $1,000 each, some said — a request people who've been around the committee for decades say they can't remember being made before. Part of the problem has been the lack of major draws for the contributors. For the past eight years, much of the party's donor strategy has been built around large events featuring Obama. But Obama so far has committed to just one DNC event since leaving office — a September event in Washington that brought in $2.5 million, a total that was less than officials had hoped for, according to people involved. Other high-profile party officials, like the dozens of potential presidential contenders, have not signed up to raise cash for the committee.
