Shazam's half-cape is still a pretty distinct look. Still funny that Elvis Presley based his iconic look off of Captain Marvel Jr. And probably demonstrates that it can still work.

I've always been lukewarm on Shazam's hood, but I admit it's pretty unique and would make him stand out among other caped heroes, especially Superman. It could look in movie form. That said, I do hope there's an earnest cornball factor to his movie.

Hey gently caress y'all and go watch Thor. Taika Waititi skipped making a real movie for this comic book poo poo. And it's real good. First act was shaky and I thought they were gonna struggle with the duality of overserious Marvel and the jokeyness of Waititi. But it does grow into an extremely charming and funny film.

The impression I get is they're going to try and make it seem like the movies are in the MCU so they're going to use as much as they can. They still have the rights to Spider-Man and all those names, places, and ideas connected. They just presumably can't use the actors or footage so its a matter of telling a story that exists just on teh outside of Homecoming. And I supposes its theoretically possible that the deal they have with Marvel allows them to use images or footage or that they could make another deal down the line. Man, I did not like Spider-Man: Homecoming. I was really looking forward to it, but it was just a teen drama with action sequences thrown in. I couldn't stand Stark and Happy just being idiots the entire time and then blaming Peter for trying to protect his town that they're just cutting and running from. Plus he doesn't even do anything. Ned saves the day against Shocker and Vulture decides the payday is worth more than Peter's life. Maybe if this hadn't happened after Civil War I wouldn't immediately be apprehensive to seeing Stark as an ally.
