I found someone to play with recently and we only went for Jason kills every game. We got several kills over a few hours and my god people get upset when they are killed as Jason. Every time the guy who got killed as Jason was so down on himself the next round as a counselor. Like legitimately depressed. I felt bad

I don't think it's the most inventive series at times but they figured out a solid formula and built on it. Even the lesser Friday films are at least entertaining. I can't say the same of Nightmare or Halloween which when they work are fantastic, but when they fail they eat poo poo. Halloween more than Elm Street but those last few Elm Street movies are way better in theory than execution. Speaking of Nightmare, I saw Freddy was recently added to DBD and my coworker was explaining his powers and such. It sounded needlessly complicated and while I'm tempted to pick the game up on the Xbox Halloween sale, even the few people on my friends list who I play Friday with who also have DBD never seem to play it. Eh, Friday is interesting now with the updates

this game's pretty loving fun, but i'm a night shift guy. Playing in North American servers late at night, I only encounter Russians and Brazilians, mostly Russian, and mostly like 10 years old. Often times I'm the only guy in the server with a ping of less than 250, sometimes there are one or two other Americans playing. It isn't fun at all that way so the game's useless to me 80% of my waking hours

Actually now that I think about it I could see that having been something they threw in to bring him back for part 2 because apparently they tried shooting some without him and someone (maybe Bob Shaye?) saw the dailies and had a poo poo fit. JEH giving no fucks about the role is a little sad because he was pretty good despite the rest of the garbage he had to work with. Why is it seemingly impossible to resurrect these franchises? I think Childs Play is the only one that has managed to pull itself out of its incredible nose dive to produce more good sequels (Curse was good, haven't seen Cult yet). Then again we're supposed to get a new Halloween next year that Carpenter is involved with so maybe that franchise has some hope.

The 2009 Friday the 13th reboot was pretty good, but the franchise is stuck in a hell of competing franchise rights. Neither New Line nor Paramount want to give up their rights, because if the other company makes a movie and it's a success it'll make them look like idiots, but neither company wants to actually try and make a movie while they're sharing the franchise, because it's guaranteed not to make enough money to make it worth both of their whiles.
